I drove 9 hours from Sacramento. First 2 nights booked at the Four Queens before I head to an airbnb setup in Henderson.

Thought I was getting a good deal at $33/night all in, but now I'm realizing that I get to listen to the Fremont st. experience outside my window.

Slept an hour and played a 1-2 session at the Golden Nugget. It's a trip seeing guys at the table with small bricks of cash. Never seen that before in person. Made a high hand bonus for quad 9's and walked out +$350. One of the players lectures me on the way out about playing too tight.

Tomorrow I'm going to pay the high rake and play in the $250 buy-in Omaha tourney at the Golden Nugget. After that, I'm going to pal around with a realtor and look for some places to live.

How late does this music go on?

Since your downtown, why not check out the Desert Manor?

Are you in one of those rooms that are actually under the Fremont Street light canopy?

Welcome to Vegas! I guess you are moving here or just here for a vacation?

Nice start to the trip with the win. The game is good at the GN. Good luck in the tourney!

I was at Four Queens last week and will be when I fly back out this week. North Tower for the first trip was not a problem with regard to noise. I was on a low-ish floor and the Nugget was off to my right, so I think that put me far enough away from FSE even on a Friday night. For search purposes, I will update after the second trip depending on where they put me this go-round...

Oh, and they do have ear plugs on the bathroom vanity, although I can see where they wouldn't help if vibration was the real source of the nuisance instead of noise itself...

First nights in Vegas? Let it slide. Some of us didn't have a room our first night in Vegas. Plus you got a couple of stories for your mates back home. Enjoy your trip.

Home from the second trip...was again in North Tower. Checked in and was initially given a room that would have been under the canopy. I did not know this until asking (still at the desk). They moved me to the other side of the hallway...and provided the valuable tip (at least for North Tower) that odd-numbered rooms are on the backside of FSE.

Being two floors down, the music was more audible than before...however, I am one of those who sleeps with a television on in the background and the TV offset the music. Music was really only noticeable to me when the television was off.

Harbor no designs of this being a dream room or dream property...but being able to go over to Binions and play single-deck blackjack at 7AM is never a bad thing, especially with no resort fee. Nugget is also running double high-hand payouts between 2A and 2P and has the $2/hr comps that can also allegedly be used at any Landry's restaurant.
