I lost $700 out of my pocket once at my casino. One 500 and two 100s. Wasn't entirely where I'd left them. Security made me tell them everywhere I'd been and when I told them I'd had a **** in one bathroom they have me the money back

Some young kid found the chips in the cubicle and handed them in.

Yup.

Short version: I got a one day ban for picking up a quarter once.

Long version: I was counting cards at blackjack in Atlantic City, NJ. LV can ban card counters but AC can't. So as I'm in AC standing behind a blackjack table waiting for the count to get high (wonging it), I see a shiny quarter (25 cents not $25) on the floor. I pick it up and almost immediately security comes over and tells me I'm being banned for rest of day for picking money off the floor.

Playing a daily at Aria a year and a half ago found a $1k chip on the floor to my left where a spewey gambler just busted. I saw the chip and reached for it in the open to see if we could find the owner who was nowhere to be found. Called the floor and handed them the chip knowing this is the rule, there are camara's and at least a few other table players where aware as well (I made no effort to conceal it). My moral compass might be tempted on a 25k chip but no regrets.

The ultimare irony was this probably ended up in the pockets of the tourney staff given the alledged shenannigans going on there at that time.

Could you even cash in a 1k chip? Don't they track them all?

They'll cash your $1k chips, they'll just start asking for a players card or ID at about $3-4k. $5k is where they'll ask the real questions.

Found a huge bag of weed once in parking lot of five guys. Was too scared I was being watched by police and didn't pick it up.

About 15 years ago I was playing blackjack on a regular basis with some friends, basically every single day/night at one of the local casinos somewhere in Europe.

One night we were playing with a guy that we really hated. This was at a table where they would allow you to bet approximately €1 a hand upto a max of €500 per hand. Now this guy was the exceptionally sleazy douchebag playing REALLY bad strategy with €1 bets and ruining our game/hands every single time. He would split hands like KK/QQ and stuff like that.

Long story short, the guy was clearly drunk out of his mind one night and while playing some roulette during shuffle we started betting the numbers neighbouring 0. I placed a €25 chip on 26 and the guy put his last 50€ on 26 as well.

The guy didn't even wait for the ball to settle, he saw it bouncing and stormed off the casino. I was handed the entire win (€25 + €50 plain), waited 20-30 minutes for the guy to return and since he didn´t I cashed in and left. I saw him at least 100 times afterwards but he never realized what happened.

Karma for making us lose thousands with horrible blackjack strategy?

I would say you lost thousands because you don't understand how probability works.

LOL. It's amazing how many BJ players believe that others' actions negatively affect their own outcome. They always remember when someone on 3rd base took what would have been the dealer's bust card, but they always conveniently forget the times when by taking and getting a small card, the dealer ended up busting with the face card that came after.

True. On the other hand it is still impossible to play 100% perfect strategy with players splitting 20´s without a reason.

Anyway, it was a long time ago and I am not sure I would have done the same thing this many years later

Funny, I have read lots of strategy charts, and it never varies based on whether other players are splitting their 20s or not.

The easiest way to NOT make friends in Vegas is to sit at 3rd base with a full table of people that think they know what they are doing. My favorite is hitting a deuce against a dealer's 3 upcard. And then Jimmie J.J. Walker gets all up in your grill.

I don't split them, but I know it matters not one bit to my results what other people do.

brilliant. I found a 5k chip under my foot one time at a 2/5 game that the winner of the daily tourney who was sitting to my right had dropped. he had no idea but I did the right thing and gave it back. always wondered if there was no obvious owner in sight what my course of action could have been, now I know.

(as an aside, if I had stayed at that game he most likely would have ended up giving me back the 5k or at least some of it.)

You can play perfect strategy on your hands regardless of what anyone else is doing with theirs. This shouldn't be so hard for you to understand.

On my last visit to Treasure Island, I was checking in and tried to put something in the safe. It was locked. So I called Security and they sent up a woman to unlock it. I said to her, if there's money in there, let's split it 50/50. She was non-committal of course. So she gets it open... and there's a white bank envelope in there...

Spoiler:
We take it out and inside we find....

Spoiler:
that it's empty.

Now in retrospect, I should have waited a day, then said that I forgot my code, and then claim anything for myself. Right?
