I was at Aria and went to a must move 5/10 game upstairs and as I was sitting down this drunk guy and girlfriend had just been busted out of the game and I took their seats. On the seat next to me was an IPhone 5, so I hurried and gave it back to them and came back and the 5/10 table broke 3 handed..
While we were waiting I looked down and then was a pretty little $100 black chip.
By this time everyone was gone because table broke and I was just waiting for a seat. Figured it was a good reward for returning iPhone!
In Australia keeping lost items, money, etc is known as "theft by finding" and you can be prosecuted. I work with a bunch of Aussie casino guys, and they support/believe in this law to the point that it leads to heated arguments.
Needless to say, we fail to see eye to eye on the matter.
My last trip almost started bad.
I was dead tired after a 15h flight and went to my room for a nap after check in, not realising I had dropped my wallet with my passport, cc and ~ $2k on the Mirage casino floor on my way to the elevators. When I found out I was soulcrushed. Not for the 2k loss but for all the hard work it means getting a new passport and not having a cc. Def. not the start I wanted for my vacation.
I went down to the front desk and asked if anyone had returned a wallet. They contacted sequrity and.... Yes! Some honest anonymous person had found it, not a cent missing.
I asked if they knew the persons name but they told me whoever returned it didnt want a reward. What are the odds of this? It felt like I started the trip on a big freeroll.
I saw a ticket facedown on the ground at Venetian last year, didn't even look at, just handed it to a slot attendant who called security after seeing it was for $979. Found the guy who was pretty drunk and he gave me $50 which I binked $5k with the next day on caveman keno. Karma?
found a 100 dollar bill blowing around the parking lot of the Rio last year. The nit in me can't help but eye the floor as I walk the casino just in case.......
Guy in the elevator at the Rio last week said he lost a 1k ticket for the dodgers and it was a winner. He had a picture of it so he checked with the book and they said it had already been cashed. As I walked out giving him my condolences he explains he is down 2k. Tough way to look at it...
One more - Two years ago two buddies and I were getting in the elevator and a stranger stops the doors from closing and hands my friend his roll ($2700). "You dropped this"
My buddy insisted on $100 thank you and the guy refused. If he waits 10 seconds, the doors close and we are gone. Well played sir, wp!
At red rock a few days ago i stopped off for a beer and the guy next to me left a ticket sitting in front of the machine face down. It was just sitting there forever too because i just assumed it was like for a free drink or a game of bowling so i didnt even bother to turn it over. So i start running like **** on the machine i was on and move over, i flip the ticket and it was for 87 dollars. The dude was pretty drunk so I just sat there and kept playing for like a half hour with the ticket in front of me in case he came but he didnt so profit me. Good karma for me i hope but doubt it...

I saw a homeless guy pull out a pretty much full litre of beer out of one of the bins on the strip, totally plus ev for him. I bet thats how most of us would feel on here if finding a $100 chip.
Never found anything but I did lose $6,000 at Bellagio 2 years ago. Don't know how but I had it narrowed down to a 30 minute period. I asked the casino to check video but they told me there was nothing they could do. Probably would have lost it at the table anyway but I would have at least liked to get my money's worth.
That's not even the most I have ever lost. 10 years ago I 'misplaced' $15K. I had made a deal on a vintage Fender guitar and went to the bank for the money and went to work. At the end of the day as I was leaving to go pick the guitar up, I realized I no longer had the money. That one spun me up as I am convinced one of my co-workers had to have found the money and it pissed me off. Whatever. I now refer to that guitar as the $30K guitar. I'll need to wait a long time for it to appreciate that much.
Many years ago, I sat down on a bench at the Aladdin to eat breakfast and there was a carefully folded $20 on the bench.
Believing it to be one of those joke bills, I decided to spite whatever teenager was lurking around the corner waiting to yank it away should I reach for it.
After finishing my breakfast, I looked closely and could not see a string. I still didn't believe it was genuine (I figured it was a religious tract hidden in a fake bill), but eventually my curiosity overpowered me and I discovered it was real.
Played two hands of $10 blackjack, pushed one and blackjacked one. Ended breakfAst $35 richer.
They say that the casinos technically own the money on the floor, but this wasn't in the casino. A few years ago I was playing 1-2NL at the Venetian, had a few bad beats, and was down $500. I went over to Palazzo for something, then was walking back to Venetian. In the shopping area between the two casinos, near the waterfall, I noticed some money on the floor, folded up. The outer bill was $100. I didn't see anyone around, so I swooped in, put it in my pocket. I walked straight to the bar at Delmonicos. I ordered a glass of wine, then took the bills out and counted them: $500. Then I ordered. I really enjoyed that steak dinner.
I once found a 2 for 1 breakfast voucher in an ashtray at the Four Queens. I went to use it but then remembered I was eating breakfast on my own so didn't need it.

Oh damm, I dropped those a few years ago. Did they have a picture of Benjamin Franklin on each one?
