Just remembered another one. Was making a deposit at a Well's Fargo in Albertsons in Summerlin about 7 years ago and on the small little counter where I was filling out the deposit slip was a sports ticket from the Palms. It was a 5 teamer. I took the ticket went home and checked the games online, 4 of them were winners and the last game was going on. 5th game turned in to a winner too so I cashed it in. It was like a $10 or $20 ticket and paid somewhere around $160.

Nah. Quick look around, no one seems to have lost it. Pick it up. Another quick look around, no one cares. On with my day.

At least do the "tie your shoes" thing when you are kneeling down.

I found 250 bones in the bathroom on top of a urinal at the card room. I told the floor and they said if no one claims it is mine.... in the morning I left after giving him 25 bucks.

not a casino but a young woman in front of me had her wallet on the top of her car. Honked and waved but she didn't hear me. When she made a U turn the wallet fell on the street so I picked it up, got her address from the license and took it to her house. Her Uncle was home and said she was a poor college student. I didn't even check for money or credit cards.

Probably rare that your lost wallet beats you home!

-saw a guy drop a full rack of reds all over the floor along "urinal row" in the bathroom at the Rio one year during the WSOP. Grossest thing i ever saw. who knows why he had them in there in the first place--i just hope he didn't put them back in play.

- watched the staff at the Venetian go through the complete chip-lifting protocol, including witnesses, paperwork, envelope, etc for a single $1 chip left at a poker table.

Years ago, in another casino in another state, I was playing blackjack. Busted out, and as I was leaving the table I happened to see under my chair what looked like several $1.00 bills folded together. I thought "What the Hell, I'll use those for the dinner tip."

Went to the bathroom to wash up before dinner, and took a peek at the folded bills. The first 3 were indeed just $1.00 bills. The next 6 were $100.00 bills.

I really wrestled with my conscience. I had been sitting at the same blackjack table, in the same seat, for at least 2 hours. At no time during my play had anyone dropped anything or said anything about dropping/missing money. No customers had come around inquiring about money they may have dropped there either. No security guards poking around the table, nothing. So whomever lost it apparently hadn't yet realized they were missing money, or perhaps they had no clue where they lost it at.

Ultimately I turned it into security. They told me if no one would claim it within a week, I could have it. I did go back after a week's time. I was told the money had been claimed. Do I trust that the security guys were truthful? To this day I don't know for sure. But I hope so.

Stick it on red first and if it comes in then take the profit. Maybe let it ride a couple times till you hit 5k

This must have been about 15 years ago, I was at Mohegan Sun in Conn and me and my friend were playing BJ right next to a game called Mohegan Shootout. I didn't know how to play the shootout game so I went over and asked the dealer how to play (he was sitting dead spread). As he's explaining it I look down on the floor and there was a pamphlet for the game, I picked up the pamphlet and inside it was 2 $100 bills and 2 $1 bills. Dealer saw what I found and kinda just laughed, I thanked him for the explanation and told him I was already up $202 at the game and went back to the BJ game.

One of the big things with money left on the machines is the concept of intent. If a guy puts credits over credits on a machine and then cashes out after spinning a few times, there is no court in the world in NY that will convict you. There is no way you can prove intent if the guy walks off an extra c note richer because he thought he won at a slot machine. The slots have become more complex so half the time the normal person doesn't even know they had won and how much.

That doesn't mean they won't 86 you until you pay the money back. Kind of a d*** thing to do but they are well within their rights to do so.

About money and or vouchers found on the floor in NY, they are tracked individually from surveillance/players cards. If the owners can not be found they are cashed and held. Eventually they go to the State. If they were picked up by a patron and not turned in, we would track and 86 them.

Walked up to a BJ table at Mandalay tonight, was gonna play, looked down and there was a $25 chip on the floor by my foot, scooped it up and decided not to play BJ since I was already up $25. Instead I dropped $300 playing machines.
