My parents were taking my niece & nephew to Vegas today through Wednesday but we had a family emergency. The suite and tix are non-refundable so I'm trying to help them recoup costs.

What's my best route to get rid of these?

5 nights MGM Jr Suite (Fri check in, Wed check out)
4 tix to O Sunday 9:30 8th row seats

Talk to them. Non-refundable seems harsh given a family emergency. They might give you a break if you talk directly to them.

Was the suite specifically booked as a non-refundable room? Because if it wasn't, you can just check out early. There's no charge for that. And yeah, talk to them if it was booked non-refundable. Ditto for the show tickets.

yes, def worth a phone call-

a couple of years ago I had to cancel a trip due to a major snowstorm. i knew the room was no problem to cancel. but we had VIP tickets ($$$) to Santana at HOB and they issued a refund (minus Ticketmaster fees)

I confused the date on KA tix, realized it as the show was ending and they changed my show to future date and honored my offer (2x per year they have 1/2 off shows for 72 hours). Point is, you can probably use the tix for another date in the future if you don't want to lose money or go through the aggravation of trying to sell them. Call Mlife and they will work with you.

I know I'm late to the party but if you didn't get a refund by the suggested means, call your credit card company. A lot of cards have free trip cancellation insurance for events just like this. Most people never need it and the few who do need it never think to use it. I'd definitely check into it.
