Ever Do The Vegas Poker Trip Solo? - Page 7 - Las Vegas Lifestyle Forum - Las Vegas Entertainment and Living Information

Those of you with wives/girlfriends who don't gamble need to learn how to pull off the perfect trip to keep her happy and get your gamble on.

Explain to her that you want to have the best of both worlds, and that you want to spend time with her, but you also want to have your marathon poker sessions and not leave her alone, bored and pissed. Then tell her that you have a solution... The two of you will fly to Vegas. You will spend 3 or 4 days being the perfect bf/husband, you'll wine her, dine her, take her to shows... whatever she wants. Then you will put her on a plane and send her ass home (don't word it like that to her) while you stay in Vegas solo for another 3 or 4 days.

I suggest doing it this way instead of you going there for a few days and then her meeting you there because you don't want to be done playing but facing a few days in Vegas. It's too depressing. If you go out together, you have the free time to look forward to so the couple of days of being the "good guy" is easier to get through.

Believe it or not, she'll think you're very thoughtful and appreciate the effort .

The only way a free shuttle would ever happen is if they installed video poker machines on the bus.

Hey, I'm solo May 17-22. Any fine 2+2ers want to grab a drink one night?

I figure poker grinding is a solo activity but it would be fun to degen with some other folks.

It's $20 to the strip including tip, or if you share a shuttle with other tourists from the pick-up area, $5.

You mean a taxi to center strip will run with tip $20 to $25, but there is a also a multi-drop off shuttle for $6 to $7. IMO when the Taxi line is long the shuttle is just as fast. Usually its only 1 or 2 stops before I reach say Bally's. Also I've just been traveling by air for 3 or 4 hours so the at most extra 10 minutes by shuttle over taxi isn't going to kill me.

Vegas tip:

If the cab line is crazy long just step onto the rental car bus. When you get to the rental car center get off of the bus and walk right into a cab. Easy game.

Personally, going solo to vegas sucks if you are loosing. If you have friends to hang out with, you can step away from tables. But if you are loosing, its very hard to step away on your own - at least for me. Its' just hard to find balance when everyone is having fun.
