I'll be there from Wednesday October 10 - Tuesday 16. Normally I meet up at TI with my sister to sweat her craps sessions, but she's finally had her baby and this time its all alone for poker and a few other things. I plan on low-limit sessions at Bally's, PH, Bellagio, Aria, Wynn, and the Flamingo. Message me if you want to meet- but I won't be drinking much!

What are some bars/lounges/clubs suitable for solo drinking and maybe finding a pair of boobs as well? I realise u can meet people anywhere but sometimes the layout/vibe makes u more comfortable

I did a 2 week solo trip at the beginning of September.

Got lonely and a little homesick on like day 10 but safety isn't really an issue unless your a complete moron about it imo.

I have been to Vegas twice. And when you are with people you do have to cater to their needs. Going back there December 17th-24th doing nothing but playing pokah with no obligations!

I just returned from a 5 day solo trip and agreed it is the best. We are there to play poker and go for walks when we want, to go eat when we want, and to return to play poker when we want. Unless you have a social disorder (and i realize many poker players do) you are going to satisfy your human need for conversation either at the table or in the race/sports book if you hang in there as well.

I'd suggest Carnival Court (very mixed crowd) or Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY. Piano bars are not a bad idea either...one at Harrahs and one at NYNY.

Solo trips have been fun. Would do again. Never felt truly unsafe.

Agreed! Solo makes it easy and you can find friends or another player to break bread.

It's a lounge bar with.... a piano.... live performance... piano player may or may not be singing......

and if you hide out in some corner of the club undetected until they close and everyone leaves.... you and the girl can have sex on top of the grand piano.

Personally I prefer the solo trip. You go where you want, when you want, stay as long or short as you want, eat when you feel like it, etc.

I'm here by myself right now, sometimes it'd be nice to have someone to go eat with. Kind of boring when I'm here by myself for long stretches at a time.

The downside of a solo trip is that it usually needs to be made-up by another trip with the GF to somewhere nice.... Very costly $$$$$$$

Heading to Vegas on Friday for my 10th or so solo Vegas trip. It's way better. It's impossible to explain to non gamblers (or casual gamblers) what playing poker is like. I've had friends say, "oh, cool yeah we'll just watch," and I'm like, "you know, I'm going to be here for 4 - 30 hours."

Better to just be on your own and can do whatever you want, eat whenever you want, sleep, etc. And I do go to shows by myself, what's wrong with that, grab a seat and a drink and enjoy a show. Also eating alone is great too, sit at the bar and chat with the bartender or at a table and go over all the betting lines, or read a book.

Another endorsement here from the whole staggered trip idea. I've done this several times with my wife, where I'll go out 3 or 4 days early, or stay 3 or 4 days after, and then have the wife come in for 3 days. She doesn't want to be there any longer than 3 days anyway, and doesn't want to keep me from playing poker, so it's the best of both worlds, a couple days with the lady for shopping, walking, dinner, shows, and then a few days alone to get my poker fix in.

And if your relationship can't handle that sort of thing, then you probably need therapy, or you're way too co-dependent and have trust issues.
