Eating for One

Going to be in LV for 8 days by myself and was just curious if anyone knew of any restaurants that were quite friendly to tables of 1. I'd like to eat 1 or 2 decent ($75+) dinners but other than that Ill stick to regular casual dining places.

I have never gone by myself so I'm unsure how restaurants look at parties of 1 but my gut feeling is that I'd definitely get passed over for a table over a couple or group.

Any recommendations for places on the strip where they will have no issue serving 1 person would be greatly appreciated. Type of food really doesn't matter.

Thanks

I also won't be drinking much, if at all, so places where they try and push booze (other than wine) is probably a no go.

Most places serve food at the bar and a lot of parties of 1 eat there.

If you want a table just ask for one, it shouldn't be a problem. If it's a popular place then make a reservation or be prepared to wait 30-45 mins.

OK Perfect, I have 0 issue having a meal at a bar. Will most fine dining places be fine with me eating a full meal at their bar?

Re: Eating for One

Make reservations ahead of time, and it shouldn't be a problem. I have to go to LV a few times a year for conference/lecture reasons, and hasn't been an issue anywhere.

OTOH, I almost always eat early (5p or so), so they might be happy to fill the table. Dunno how it'll be at 8p or so.....

Eating at the bar is better when you are alone. You have others at the bar to talk to, the bartenders to talk to, and if they have a tv you can watch whatever sporting event is on.

Re: Eating for One

+1 for the bar seating recommendations.

it's not socially awkward and you can find decent happy hour deals. check out american fish at Aria for $5 food from the lounge menu from 5-7, but you'll find lots of similar deals.

i know there is a mccormick and schmick's in vegas, but don't think it's close enough for you.

but you get the idea.

I ate solo at the bar at Craft Steak in the MGM, they had no problem. I've also eaten solo at the bar at Delmonicos in the V as well.

Shouldnt be a problem anywhere. I would actually recommend/prefer the bar as opposed to a solo table. Less isolated, and I think most places will actually prefer that (waiters dont like their 4 tops occupied by a single). Dont think any place will mind you eating at the bar, just ask the bartender ahead of time.

Re: Eating for One

I've eaten solo at a million nice places in Vegas, always at the bar. I could probably count on one hand how many restaurants won't serve the full menu at the bar, it's insanely common.

Among my favorites for bar dining:

Sage
American Fish
Jean-Georges Steakhouse
Bouchon
Cut

Dining alone can be fun.

I've gotten the tasting menu at Le' Cirque for one.
