First to say.. Poker Church was awesome!! Thanks to Jim_Beam for setting it up and to all that attended, I think that was a lot of fun. Really great meeting all of you. I'm in for next time, for sure.

Thanks for coming guys! It was good meeting you. I think that went just about as well as I could have hoped for so I appreciate everyone that came out.

Recap: 6 of us total showed up and I think we had some great discussion on hands as well as some tips on games; I'm definitely going to take a hard look at the 2-5 Bellagio game you were all talking about.

The Southern Highlands location seems to work OK for everyone. I think this has legs, so I will pledge to be there every Sunday from here on in. It only takes two people to make a meeting, so come one, come all!

Well, I played for a living for 5 years or so and did well, however my games were limit hold'em cash and tournaments. I never really got into playing NL cash seriously. Add to that the fact that I've been mostly out of the game for the past 6 years and yeah, I'm probably not a great player. I'm sure I can change that though.

Baconmaker has asked if we can all go around the table and give a brief background on our history with poker. I think that's a great idea and we will kick off the meeting with that. Also bring a hand to discuss if you'd like. I'll bring speed cloth and a deck of cards.

Wanna push it up to 2pm? They kicked us out pretty swiftly at 5. Apparently we all have the stamina to talk enough. Who wouldda thunk it, poker players can gab on for hours...

Time did certainly fly by last time! I'm game for a 2pm start. That actually works better in my schedule too.

So let's just say that Poker Church will run between 2pm and 5pm. Come at 2 or come at 3, someone will be there. But at 5pm the barista there releases the hounds!

Thanks to everyone that came by today! We had 6 people again today and some great discussion. I loved hearing from the pro prop player - living the dream!

Definitely a great session. I'm starting to feel that I'm getting more out of this per hour than playing, educationally speaking. It's really good to bounce ideas off each other, and I think we are getting some solid topics covered.

However, I think the barista used all the bleach in Clark County to clean that place, and my sinuses are burning!! I'm not sure my sense of smell is ever going to recover.

Indeed, that wasn't pleasant.

HOWEVER, that reminds me, towards the end I did grease her a little bit. I asked her to reserve that large table for us, every Sunday. From now on I'm hoping that when I walk in, she'll have the table ready for us. She promised she would and I promised her a tip every time she did it. That table is pretty comfortable and away from any trace of bleach.

The rolling start from last week seemed to work great, so come any time between 2-5PM. We've had great turnouts and we've done everything from discuss hands, theory, game selection around town and just BS'ing around.

I've asked the girl there to save the table for us, so that should be good, gives us more room to work with.
