The tier match only extends to Jan 2018, right? Whereas if you actually get 15k tier credits in 2017, you'll be Diamond through Jan 2019.

When you're looking at VP pay tables, make sure you have the correct denomination. A lot of VP machines (including the ones at Rio I believe), can be played at 25c, 50c, or $1, but the same game will have better payouts at the $1 denomination.

That said, if you are playing WSOP events or cash games at CET properties, I wouldn't recommend playing VP just in the hope of getting offers. You'll already have so many days of no play that even a 2500 TC day won't give you a very high daily average.

Thanks Nick: I did not know that about the denominations. The tier match does only extend to January 2018, which is another reason why I thought it may be a good idea to try to accumulate TC while I'm here in Vegas, since the machines that are 99%+ in my home casinos (AC) are apparently high roller/high variance types.

Fortunately I stayed with a friend at the Rio without my name being on the room for the first couple weeks, so my average play isn't totally doomed, yet.

If I coined in 50K and only lost 415 dollars, but that led to me getting 3-4 nights comped at CET properties in Vegas or AC for any sort of sustained period of time, then that would be worth it to me. If I coined in 50K, didn't hit a royal and lost anywhere from 1500-2K and only got 1-2 nights comped offered for like a month or two (or just one time only, after they realized I don't actually gamble at all), then it is not worth it. I understand what you're saying and I tend to err on the side of caution (in this case, your side), but I do have a certain curiosity as to whether I'm missing out on value. I appreciate your insight, regardless.
It sounds like you have a good handle on it. To optimize it, put your play in on a trip where you're not staying at a CET place at all. The AVERAGE daily theoretical loss is the key. My costs run at around 50 cents per tc unless I got on a hot streak or hit a royal. So that's about $1250 on a 2500tc day. It would take a lot of $50 comped rooms to make that worthwhile.

I suggest you do the Quest thing while in Vegas this trip and then see what you get comp-wise. If results are not what you were after then try the vp.

It's been said, and I have no evidence to dispute it, that any time your presence is known in a CET casino, that counts as a "gambling day". You want the smallest number of days, ideally 1, and the largest number of tc. Playing a WSOP event, playing in the poker room, maybe even eating in a restaurant and using a credit card with your name on it may trigger a gambling day.

does that mean online poker has 0 days or 1 per month?

i avg 3k tier a month... it gets credited to my tr acct once a month. For a long time I had 0 physical presence at a cet property.

For live, any TR account/card activity trips a gaming day. For online, I don't think anybody has figured that out yet as far as ADT is concerned.

Using the Diamond lounge triggers a trip?

Of course. You used a perk tied to your account.

as well as using freeplay.
and using rewards credit to pay for your food at restaurants.

so basically, anytime your rewards card gets registered in the computer system

It's been theorized other things may trigger one as well. Walking through and triggering facial recognition, paying with a credit card, etc.

That may be, though unconfirmed IMO. Everything AA and I mentioned is fact.

Diamond lounge using your players card for anything definitely does but there is no way a credit card (except maybe a tr credit card ) or facial recognition counts as a day
.
For anyone wondering what you'll get from going for diamond. I got 2500 pts in one day in jan.less thaba qeek later tons of comped nigjts atarted showiing up on my calender.since then used three stays at Harrah's ac comped.on the third stay comp offers in ac disaperered from my calendar.im on my fifth comp week in Vegas now during wsop. Last week my comps disapeered from my calendar. I've basically no played them other than the 2500 pts I got that one day (have earned about 1000 pts otherwise from poker)

I did book another comp week in December as well as two in mid March before the offers we're pulled

Pretty sure it is a 6 month period on your ADT so would make sense they are dropping if you have not visited since Jan.

Fooled around at the Rio to get my 25 TC at VP on the quest for rewards and THIS happened. Hell of a way to start the quest.

Of course but I'm quite pleased with what I was able to milk them for

Thanks P4B: I took your advice and started to do the quest thing while I'm here. I've already put exactly 25 TC into each of the 9 CET casino's VP machines, so I'll see what that nets me and report back, should anyone be interested.

I doubt that 25tc per casino is going to net you any additional comps on top of what comes with Diamond.
ie: no resort fees, access to Diamond lounges (and their free food)

what game do you play that you avg only $0.50 per tc w/o a hot streak or Royal?

Find a 97% payback JOB machine for example. Consult wizard of odds and Vpfree2.

Every $10 wagered gives 1TC. Expected loss of $0.30 per TC.

Expected loss of $0.50 per TC if no Royal.

These are rough estimates, but Royal contributes only +-2% to the paytables.

I am a vegas local, but only gamble on the strip when friends come.I would never have status except maybe TR gold towards the end of the year
I travel a lot and am a hyatt diamond, now called globalist under their new program.
MGM matched me to platinum for this.
I went to the Linq last week and they matched me to Diamond for having MGM platinum.
Good until January 2018
I get all the benefits including the $100 dinner
Just an FYI in case this helps anyone else

That's a cool way to get it! The lines for diamond lounge are crazy these days and it seems like EVERYONE is diamond. I am afraid they will soon bump up the requirement for diamond to 20K+ just to reduce those lines a bit.

It's 25k points in ac and the lines are insane on weekdays when the menu shifts to dinner at 5pm.
Much better on weekends when the 7star lounges open and the 7stars go there.

Read that a diamond lounge (forgot where) required 40k when they were in temp location.

In Vegas there is no "menu" until 4:30. Even then it's usually only wings and one other thing and a handful of vegetables and chips.

WRT the Quest I played craps at the Linq for 30 minutes betting $10 on the line only. 22tc, which made it awkward getting only 3 more. It's not like I can only play for 5 minutes, they may not give any credits at all. So I played for another 30 and lost $40. I'd prob lose twice that playing blackjack.
