Just FYI -

This not necessarily accurate outside of Vegas. I've been Diamond for the past few years and I always have to present a credit card upon checkin at Harrahs New Orleans. However, they've always allowed me to pay cash (or reward credits) for things charged to the room at check out without any issue. Eg never auto charged my cc or auto used my credits.

Same here- Harrahs NOLA and Biloxi have always put a $50 hold on my CC.

Same-4 nights in Cherokee, Diamond status, comped. CC needed and held $50 PER NIGHT. You do have the option at checkin to have any charges paid first with RC's and balance on cc.

In my experience, and that experience being in New Orleans, the answer is "no" at checkin but absolutely at check out. However, they always still do the hold up front and release it at check out.

Was hoping to buy my way to Diamond Status, I guess DIaD is my next best option. I hope it doesn't cost me $10k

That's funny, they have been emailing me almost daily since I cancelled begging me to rejoin.

anyone know what the timing of posting TCs from WSOP buyins is? on the TR website it says should roughly coincide with late reg closing, but i've seen older reports claiming 24 hours. wondering if anyone can confirm how it worked in 2016. planning to play a bit of VP on WSOP days to maximize my TC bonus in case I decide to go for diamond or seven stars

I can't find where they're giving tc's for tournament entry. They used to, but I see only reference to rc's now.

First I've heard of it. Did you use someone as a reference?

Mark, I did not use a reference. I simply filled out the form from their website.

There appears to be a new Quest for rewards. I just got an email saying "you earned blah blah" and didn't even know I was earning anything. This one is Vegas-centric and wants you to spend actual cash on hotels and food in addition to gambling.

Maybe to collective can think of good ways to get the table game requirement. I have no idea because I don't play table games.

Also, poker is specifically excluded! Well, that sucks, since I don't play table games either.

This quest seems like a total waste of time!

You can almost get Diamond from this quest alone. Just because you -don't- play table games doesn't mean you -can't- play table games just for the purpose of the quest. It is very annoying that poker is excluded, but it seems worth it to suck it up and do some modestly -EV gambling for an hour at each property.

At least for me, the table game that is lowest variance and most comfortable is Pai Gow (though Craps or Baccarat will have lower house edge).

Yeah. It's a bummer that poker doesn't qualify.

But take a look at these bonuses.
25 Tier points from Slots + 25 Tier Points from Table Games = 3 badges, or 600 Tier points. BUT, if you get 31 badges, which will require some spending on non-gaming badges, since there's only 27 from gaming, each badge will be worth 400 Tier credits instead of 200.

If you max out the gaming badges it's a 5400 tier credit bonus, but if you add in four more badges from spending on food/shows/spas/hotel/golf/shopping, you're looking at 10800 tier credits from the gaming, and 1600 more from the spending, or 12400 tier credits. Plus the original 450 from the gaming and the 400+ from spending, and you're nearly at Diamond.

It seems fairly attainable if you're in Vegas for a significant portion of the promotion.

Even if you just stick to the gaming portion, a 5400 point bonus for 450 tier credits of slots and table games has to be less volatile than trying to get a 5000 point bonus off of 2500 tier credits in one day of VP. Especially here in Vegas.

Does anyone know the formula for earning tier credits at blackjack? i.e. how many minutes of play at $25 per hand to earn 25 TCs? Can you check-in with the pit boss and ask him to verify before you leave the table?

I think you're mistaken here. Even if you get more than 31 badges, the first 31 are still only worth 200, and any additional badges after 31 are worth 400. So 35 badges gets you 5400 TCs (for the first 31) plus 1600 TCS (for the next 4) = 7,000 TCs

Yeah, I think you're right. After looking over it again, I guess badges 1 through 30 are worth 200 each, and badges from 31 on are worth 400.

Sorry about that.

Well, the first thirty badges would be 6000 TC bonus, then 31-35 would be 400 each, so the total would be an 8000 TC bonus.

But yeah, I was definitely mistaken on the bonuses in my original post.

I imagine video poker doesn't qualify either?

This quest gets very expensive fast. You have to shell out actual cash for the "entertainment" badges, none of which I usually spend money on. The table games seem near impossible to track. The hotel rooms I don't use unless I get them free or nearly free. The only reason I got 1 badge is because I had to pay a little for a couple of days.

"Slots" means reel type slots only? I didn't see the part about no poker, that sucks. I guess I need to learn the pai gow game.

Video poker does qualify as "slots" in this promotion, per rule
24-a-i. Here is a link to the Official Rules.

Yeah, I found the tiny print link to the rules.

It seems like the lowest cost way to go is some vp and pai gow at the same place to get the property badge, and to hell with the entertainment badges. How many hands at what bet size in pai gow would anyone guess it takes to get 25 tc?

But crap, I knew I should have waited for another promotion before I blew off $2000 on a 2500tc vp day.
