But they'll still be giving free drinks to players. This really only impacts the freeloaders.

I have paid 6 months rent and have a 10k roll, which is about 33% my net worth. If for some reason I go out there and lose the 10k I can quit say hey it didn't work out and come back to Illinois and go back to work here. I was also considering getting some menial part time job just to supplement my income such as cashier or something.
Interesting that his post was from 2014 yet he's been a Vegas casino bartender for seven years. Must have been a helluva commute from Illinois to Vegas for those four years prior to him moving out there.

So you're so desperate for people to read your threads that you use "click bait" titles? Yet when people call you out on your "clickbait" hyperbole, you get defensive and tell them they're "entitled" and accuse them of starting drama.

I find your obsession with me unusual. I mean, I would get it if you met me and saw how amazing I am but to be obsessed over a couple posts you've read is weird. I think we're moving too fast and I'd like to end the relationship now.

You did the whole "talk down to a bartender" thing that losers typically do. I make $18.36 an hour and make about $200-$300 a day in tips, so i make about 400-500 a day plus FREE healthcare and FREE prescriptions(which adds like 20k to my salary) whenever I want, my union pension and not to mention the 500 others deals i get working for the company. Whatever you do for a living I assure you my lifestyle is 10 times better than yours.

Now you made a claim that people sit at penny slots all day and get comped drinks. Yes this is true but you seem to imply that they are only betting one penny when in reality they are not. Penny slot bets typically range from 60 cents to 5 dollars(some high as 10 dollars) and vary in between. Slots pay off less than video poker machines and blackjack you typically find at a bar and people go through money much faster at a slot machine than at a bar.

Go ahead and sit at a penny machine "all day" as you claim and see how fast you spend 100 bucks for 2 or 3 drinks.

Plus that would be great for the system to go casino wide. Get losers like you out and keep players in. It will never be like that in the pit though.

Let me guess you are the guy that comes to Vegas on a "budget." LOLOLOL!

I make way more than you

It seems more efficient. I like efficiency. I think this system is a good thing.

Actually, what I would like is to be able to order my drinks electronically, maybe using my phone, and they can use my card or my phone to track where I am to deliver the drink.

Many years ago I was a heavy smoker. We were staying at the Golden Nugget and a cigarette girl would come around periodically selling smokes for $3.00 or so.

Smokes were free for players over at Binions so I'd play $.50 craps and load up. Every time the waitress would come around I'd order a screwdriver and a pack of smokes. After I had 3 or 4 packs in my pockets I could go back to the Nugget. Rinse and repeat.

After getting multiple packs for free in 20 minutes or so, the waitress caught on and refused to get me another pack. I would then have to move to another table and wait for a different waitress.

I'm also guilty of repeatedly putting $20 into a VP machine to get a free drink and promptly cashing out as soon as I got it.

Freeloaders like me greased the skids for a monitoring program to be implemented.

Of course I've also sat at a VP machine and pumped in a couple of hundred as I got loaded. Over the years, I don't think my booze intake has hurt their bottom line too much.

You can already order drinks electronically on more modern slot/VP machines, tracked through your player's card.

One step away from having a robot deliver it to you.

P.S. I don't tip robots.

Can you order anything they make at the bar or is the menu limited to the more popular options?

To say it only effects freeloaders is ignorant. I know I'm not the only one willing to play sub op strategy vp with the worst pay tables to receive quality service based on tips on my way to gamble

The whole point of playing bar top vp with the worst pay table is so you can tip generously and receive quick service and heavy pours. If the service time is dictated by the machine and the pours are also measured by a machine or otherwise, why are we tipping or playing at the bar?

Geez, how long ago was that? Last I looked, they were $10/pack in the casinos. Might even be more now.

I'm not sure, I don't play slots enough to have ever tried to order something beyond the very basic. I noticed if you want to specify a more top shelf brand you have to pay for it, but this might be true ordering from a waitress too.

This was in the late 80's and I'm guessing at the price, may have even been lower.

The first time I went to Vegas in the mid/late 70's I flew back with $.85 in my pocket. That amount was intentional because that's what cigarettes cost in the vending machines at O'hare airport and I knew I'd need a pack for the ride home.

Heh, I remember as a kid my dad used to pay $3.50 a carton. He'd throw two cartons in the basket on the weekly shopping trip. Nobody can afford cartons any more.

Was at Harrah's in New Orleans and they had this built into the VP machine.

I'd be most interested in ordering bourbon or scotch that is neither top shelf nor bottom shelf than a beer.

It'd be nice to have an app that would let you order drinks at the poker table along the lines of restaurants I've been to where you order off an iPad at the table. I like looking at a drink menu instead of asking a server to rattle off the list of bourbons at the bar.

I go to Vegas 3-4 times a year and gamble a lot. $10 craps w/max odds on 3 numbers, $25-$50 blackjack, $1 VP, and hours of poker sessions. The only drink I order is Capn & Coke. And the ONLY time I have EVER received a buzz while drinking and gambling in Vegas was in the high limit areas. Hmmm....

So if Vegas wants to monitor the play, I have no problem with that. But it'd be nice if they actually put some liquor in their drinks.

Here's an idea: lower the rake/vig/advantage....and I'll pay for my own damn drinks! Crazy, I know.

I really don't care much. In a six hour session, i might drink 4 beers and 1 non-alcoholic drink. So I'm not getting my money's worth. Guess I should degen more?

Stop ordering it with Coke, or order it as a back.
