Some friends and I are starting to get something settup. We all have money to grind 2/5-5/10 and can sustain ourselves for atleast a month. We would like to have accontability of each other and stand by our guidelines of no hookers and no drugs. We would like to simply grind... Drink water.. Gring... No Hookers or coke... no strip clubs. or Dank. Have us a little straight edge grind session.. simply to improve bankroll. If you are down shoot me a PM. OP, looking for other grinders who want to focus on poker and not get distracted by the Vegas vices sounds reasonable to me but it'd be a lot better received if you didn't use the straight edge label. Those people tend to be pretty annoying.

According to http://www.udetc.org/documents/Drinking_in_America.pdf, 54 percent of Americans drink at least once a month. And 28 percent drink on at least five days a month. And that is not even taking into consideration the drugs/hookers aspect of that statement.

You are right that the majority of Americans can control their drinking and other vices, but that is not what straight edge is. Straight edge is being 100 percent free of those vices. You may not care and you may not be impressed by people who are straight edge, but you are completely misdefining what it represents. You are saying those who already have drinking and other issues well under control but who want to have it be 0 percent suffer from impulse-control issues.

However, OP's bankroll still doesn't make any sense.

If you want to live straight edge it's better to stay off of the strip, since the strip is for everything you're against. I've done Vegas messed up, and I've done it totally sober. You won't be resonating with many people when you're sober and many things will irritate and disgust you.
