42 million people visited Las Vegas in 2015. So far in 2016 there has been a 1.6% increase in visitors over last year. We poker players are irrelevant. Like all corporations, the casinos/hotels have a legal obligation to their stockholders to maximize profits and obviously they're still not fleecing the customers to a point where it deters them from coming.

Self park at Wynn is super small. Encore has more capacity as far as I can tell.

I've parked at Wynn and Venetian several times and I never had trouble finding a spot. Those garages have never filled up once when I was there.

And that's all irrelevant anyway. They aren't going to add fees for that reason.

Those green and red lights have never helped me find a spot. I think they increase the chances that a driver will hit someone pulling out of a spot. The driver will be distracted by the lights and might not notice someone pulling out.

I could see them helping on really busy nights at certain places, but I've been on the Strip enough that it's super easy to know where I can easily find a spot 100% of the time.

Maximizing profits != maximizing shareholder value. They are only obligated to do the latter.

I guess I've lived here too long and am an old now...but I just don't why anyone would want to vacation on the Strip anymore. Seems everything has become ridiculously expensive compared to what you get in return. There has to be better options for a memorable vacation.

Just saw an interesting piece on CBS This Morning about the Lucky Dragons opening. Combining the availability of direct flights Beijing- LV and the fact that China is the fastest growing nation in regards of international travel, they expect to have 5 million Chinese tourists in Vegas a year in the future. Even though that growth will mostly combine from middle class families, Chinese are also expected to continue to be the biggest average spenders.

So I guess they won't complain about resort and parking fees..

Looks like a loophole to me. The laws specify that only card games can be spread so that means games like roullete and craps are out. They figure out a way to play these games with cards and voila.

pre uber/lyft i would have cared
but uber and lyft are so cheap out here for my purposes they're way cheaper than renting a car and way more efficient.

no wasting time looking for good rates on rentals,dealing with upsells, it being more expensive when my dates of a trip change and it's just faster a lot of the time to use uber or lyft.

Im hoping to get diamond this year for free, but even if I have to pay for it I intend on making sure Cesar's loses money by me existing.

Those who aren't mathematically illiterate will note that $1/hand rake and $5/hr comps means zero net revenue.

Nobody runs a place like that even if their daily interest payment is zero.

Think about it. In the 50's, when the mob ran Vegas, there was zero competition for what Vegas offered. Atlantic City existed, sure, but it was nothing like Vegas, even back then. Now, 30 states have legalized gaming (either state-run or tribal-run). Competition is everywhere. People literally don't have to even go on vacation to get their degeneracy fix. If Vegas wants to remain a destination, they should be doing things like giving away the farm. Instead, with all this competition around, they're starting to price themselves out of the market.

The logic of everything just seems completely backwards to me. I understand why the CEOs are doing it - they don't care about anyone except the shareholders. And with MGM, the stock price actually ticked up once they announced the pay-to-park scheme. Every Vegas local could mail their MLife card back to the MGM corporate offices and tell them to shove it, and it wouldn't change a thing as long as that stock price held steady.

Why the **** am I still awake...

Blame the Millennials. They don't like to gamble. They like to go clubbing and walk around to find the best place to take cute selfies to post on the facebooks. Vegas needs to find new sources of revenue.
