We stayed at Flamingo last month and the safe was free, as was the fridge in our room, but we had a GO room, so maybe that's different.

Bally's/Paris has no safety deposit boxes in the casino for customers.
This makes no sense. Every U.S. hotel has safety deposit boxes at the front desk for hotel guests.

it might be where you live. i felt the same way the first couple trips to vegas. but it's really common to have that much cash in vegas. the strip is a very safe place.

But thank goodness there are no pickpockets anywhere near the strip. Or hookers with ruffies. OTOH when I was there a couple years ago a woman stopped her car on the strip and started shooting at someone.

Does anyone know the current state of boxes in vegas as of now? Someone had asked me to post this in this thread for updated information. Might head to vegas later on.

I read that venetian no longer offers boxes anymore. I also know from a few years back, it was not possible to get one at bellagio due to it being a huge wait list. I assume the same is true?

I read that aria use to give these away when aria first opened. Someone mentioned that you could get them as long as the floor knows you but they then stopped giving it and you need to be at least mid stakes player to get it which i assume is 2/5nl and up.
Is that the case now at aria?

Someone did mention wynn has them. I read wynn moved their poker room to encore. But are boxes available there? So it seems like theres only aria or wynn possible to get a box? I assume no other poker rooms have boxes then right?

Be interested if anyone here knows this.

Just put your money in any or multiple of the sportsbook apps, which I am assuming you would do anyway since you bet sports. Easy money in and out.

You put cash in at the location and take cash out.

If I'm staying at Aria I can just use one of their safety deposit boxes no problem, I wouldn't need to use one of their poker room boxes right?

I think that this is pretty much the case for all of the hotels. A guest of the hotel can use the hotel's safe deposit box during their stay.

Can you put money in/out 24/7 or only during sport book hours?

If you are dealing with cash in and cash out then yes during sports book hours only.
But that is like 8am to 11pm or something.

If you are never making sports bets and constantly putting money in and taking it out, I am sure they won't be happy about that tho.

parisron -- can you elaborate a bit more on how the NV sports betting apps work in terms of using them as a "bank" of sorts? Are there fees on making deposits into any of these apps, or on getting money out?

Obviously there's a vig on the actual betting, but I mean if you're using the apps just to hold funds, and to pull cash out when playing live sessions... would you be paying fees on any of that activity?

I did a little Google'ing, and I did come across http://www.legalsportsreport.com/nevada/

End of that page, it gives a breakdown of all the major players in the Sports Betting apps. Seems a good majority of them are in-house, such as MGM for MGM properties, Station Casinos for the same, etc.. So I'm assuming if one of those are used to hold funds, your cash would only be accessible when inside one of those properties?

How about any of the 3rd party Apps, like William Hill which does operate here in NV? Looks like the cash in/out options might be a bit more flexible, and I'm assuming your funds would technically be available at just about any NV sports book?

Sorry for all the questions, and sorry for jacking the thread on PaulyJames200x. Just this week I start putting some thought into how I'll handle carrying cash around to different poker rooms (not that it's much) -- and the Sports Book App solution sounds pretty perfect.

Any additional info would be appreciated.

Better article I found from late 2016 which has links to most of the Sports book apps:

https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/gamb...etting-rundown

Looks like most Android apps have to be downloaded as an APK directly to your phone, and then installed manually. I'm guessing Google Play Store restrictions? But yet most seem to be readily available in the Apple App Store.. go figure

In any case, Play MGM app installed via APK... and will hit up an MGM property tomorrow to complete account setup and add funds. Unless I'm missing something, it appears Caesars properties aren't in the app space yet?

And upon investigating the William Hill app further, it doesn't look like the major Strip casinos are affiliated with them -- but some smaller places are. Would still love to hear some feedback on WH.

I have not been in vegas for several years but It should be like it was. I never had a problem or fee for money in/out. But I was actually making bets. I don't know how long you can use them and keep putting money in/out and not making bets.

William Hill I used Silver Sevens, which was Terribles. Only a few blocks from the strip.
MGM app wasn't around when I was there. And no, Caesar's is still too scared or dumb to have an app.

I think Tuscany is WH also.

Thanks for the reply parisron, greatly appreciated. The only real downfall I can see is of course them having issue with you taking money in/out and never placing sports wagers... I suppose the occasional $2.00 bet could satisfy that

But the biggest downfall is that most sports books it seems shut down window operations at 11pm most nights. Looks like maybe the Mirage is the only MGM book that has 2am hours on Fridays & Saturdays, otherwise it's all 11pm shutdown time. So that effectively kills your ability to drop your cash back into your account if you played a late poker session, which is probably nearly all sessions. lol

Looks like Venetian with the CG technology app has 24hr window operations in-house. And some off-strip casinos like The Orleans show as 24hr window operations as well.

You have issue with carrying like 2k around or something. Everyone has that walking around vegas. It's no big deal as long as you are on the strip. Just hold on to it and don't leave it were it could get picked(not likely anyway).

Not really so much an issue carrying around a couple grand, just more the ability to drop cash or pull some cash out easily if need be (without incurring ridic ATM fees in a casino).

I'm relatively new to Vegas, and don't have a local bank account.. kept all my accounts at PNC back in PA. Thought about grabbing a Chase account locally just to keep bankroll money in, so that I could easily withdraw and deposit to that account in cash via ATM. The sports book solution just seemed like an alternative to going that route is all.
