Right, so they're already a foreign team. It's going to have to be an Eastern team. Most of the others already have very solid followings, Panthers, Patriots, Steelers, etc.

That's the reason they'd be the #1 choice if the NFL decides to relocate a team to Toronto. The Bills are the least valued team according to Forbes annual list, I doubt they have a long term future in Buffalo.

It still looks like the Jaguars would be the first choice for a move to London. They don't have a real fan base in the US anyway, people in London like them because they've played there a couple of times already and Shahid Khan also owns Fulham FC.

I still think Jacksonville should move and be called the London Shaguars.

Although more teams should get a sweet party pool like they have.

Dude if the Raiders move to Vegas their Sunday Pool Party at the stadium is going to make Rehab at Hard Rock look like Passages of Malibu.

Roger Goodell, build this stadium!
10-14-2016 , 01:41 PM
Y'all haven't even discussed the fact that, if the Raiders move to Vegas their games will be blacked-out on teevee. No home viewing parties, probably no sportsbook viewing. That's going to suck big time. After all, who actually wants to deal with going to the stadium?
10-14-2016 , 02:16 PM
Those of us that will work the TV production.
10-14-2016 , 04:08 PM
Nah, at least for awhile they will sell out. Hell, they're on tv a lot of the time now in Oakland. Maybe it's only on national tv they have to sell out.
10-14-2016 , 04:10 PM
What? TV blackout was ended before last season that's why I'm stuck with every damn Rams game now
10-14-2016 , 04:25 PM
Last NFL blackout was during the 2013 season (San Diego and Buffalo, go figure) and since last year, the policy is suspended and prolly won't ever come back.

It's the other way round. Blackouts are only on local TV, within a 75 mile radius of the city.

The worst thing about NFL tv policy was that the local team was always on tv. My bad luck to have two teams in my vicinity and I didn't like either one. I had to hope for opponents that I liked to watch.

Passed the Senate. Off to the governor.

I guess I better get on my horse as far as finding the property I'm going to buy in the area in the next year or so before the demand goes up and thusly the prices.

People who want to see their favorite teams every week are supposed to buy direcTV or the NFL Gamepass. At least if the NFL had it their way.

Network TV is becoming an old people's thing within a couple of years anyway, though.

Looks like the owners will talk about the Raiders next week during the fall meetings, but the first time they could officially file for relocation would be in January.

Yeah, right. Satellite tv sucks. NFL bull**** is too expensive - I'm not paying the NFL any more money. Network tv will be alive and well long after you're dead.

Mark Davis says the Raiders will play the next two seasons in Oakland:

Do you follow year-to-year L+SD/L3 ratings of network shows? Those numbers go down rapidly, especially in the 18-49 demo which is basically the only one that really matters. Young people don't really watch (classical) network TV anymore because they don't even understand why they can't watch whatever they want whenever they want.
10-15-2016 , 07:30 PM
I watch stuff from classic network tv but I either watch it later that night after recording it or I watch it on Hulu the next day via Apple TV or my iPad. The fox cartoons + empire, Gotham, last man on earth and now designated survivor. So i guess 5-6 shows in all.

Mark Davis updated the other owners about the current status and apparently told them that Oakland isn't interested in keeping them anymore.

Another clear sign what the most important thing for owners is:
Quote:
Another source familiar with the Raiders' presentation told Trotter: "I don't know what there is to say other than, 'Congrats, Raiders on getting the largest public subsidy ever and cleaning up our L.A. [mess]."
In other NFL fall meeting news, owners are increasingly concerned because 6 weeks into the season, TV ratings are still 10% down and nobody knows exactly why, except for the presidential debates and boring prime time games.

That's a pretty lol interpretation.

Every year the Raiders bitch about how they want to move to LA, and how Oakland sucks; then they don't move, and wonder why nobody in Oakland wants to shell out $750,000,000 to keep them there, even when they manage to put together a winning season. And by winning season I mean 8-8 because 0.5 rounded up is 1.0.

They're your problem now, Vegas.

The team name does make sense now, raiding the general public out of $750M.

Isn't Adleson putting up $650 of that $750? The NFL in Vegas is great for Vegas, next is the NBA. I for one will stop at my local dispensary to buy some legal edibles on my way to the game.

No. The $650M is in addition to the $750M public funds. Raiders supposed to kick in around $500M. Stadium cost approx $2B.
