I agree. Just last year I hired a covered wagon to take me down the Oregon Trail. While I could've avoided dysentery, cholerea and losing one of my family members to an Indian attack, I thought the savings were too good to pass up.
Suck it Priceline!
The trip only took me 2 months and I didn't have to deal with TSA, was able to hunt buffalo at will and I met some great people along the way.

Seriously, if what you are saying is true, then this is the kind of dude that hears voices in his head. And the voice that is, right now, telling him to give you money might be saying something a whole lot different in a short amount of time. I doubt you want to be around to find out what the next message is.

He is not mentally Ill.

Re: $900 Bankroll till it bust....
Obviously, I can not begin to describe every facet of "joe's" personality. If you do not believe me that is fine but believe that I know how to handle my self and have a little bit of common sense. Not to mention be able to tell if someone is mentally ill. He may be eccentric but there indication he has any type of illness. No signs of Bi-Poloar, Schizo, Borderline Personality, ect etc. I'm not a doctor but there are tale tell signs of some of this stuff. Except maybe bi-polar but I've yet to see any type of sudden or drastic mood changes. He is not mentally Ill. The more and more that I get to know him, its about him not wanting to party or spend this money alone. Does he have an angle? I have no clue. I've been straight up with him and so far he has with me.
Like I said he is a novice at gambling and he generally lets loss roll off his back.
The thing thats compelling is he buys this stuff, gambles, passes me cash and generally takes care of me....and other than trying to get me to do some blow he has not asked anything of me. You guys are only getting the very basic description.....you cant understand it unless you met him or were here.
------------
Poker last night.
"joe" bought half my action last night with the intention of me playing 5/10 and passed me $600.
I head over to the Bellagio and decide against playing that high since I havent played in over a year. I sit down and with in 15 minutes I knew my mind was not really there, I was tired and still tyring to comprehend all thats happend over the past few days. So I folded and shot the **** and had a few beers. Well more than a few beers as they were going to down easy. I decided to pack it up after the third one with a $50 loss.
I head back over, its about 1245am and go to the room and talk with "joe" a bit as he waits for a hooker. I know at this point, it is going to be a long night. I head back out as the girl gets their and walk around a bit and finally decide to mess around at the Planet Hollywood poker room.
In the first 20 minutes or so, I get stuck $200 loosing a flip with AK vs QQ. However, this table is really soft and something clicked and my focus returned. For the next hour and a half I bully the table and catch a hands.....oddly enough the biggest pots I made hero calls and was right. My hand reading skills and reading skills were pretty sharp. I'm not sure if my play was excellent but the game was so soft, my aggression was going unchecked. All amateurs, except for one person. I played my loose aggressive game until they broke the table.....I was a bit of maniac actually because they were that weak tight. Soft soft game. I cashed out at $600 $200 up.
I went back to the room and Joe was still busy. Doh.....I got back down and stroll for an hour, getting rather tired as my buzz was wearing off.....go back up and this girl is in the elevator. Turns out she ended up going to the room to meet "joe".
At this point, I needed sleep so I was going to grab my computer and get me another room, they actaully comped him one night of our current three day book and comped this room as well...so looks like they taking care of him now.. "joe" did one better and got me a room with out me asking....
I just woke up and here I sit in a rather nice room. sick life. He is staking me in a $500 Feista Lago tourny this evening......
so anyways...on to the next day
one thing is the bus ride drained me something fierce and I'm wearing down. I only got four hours sleep last night. I'm prob going to at some point take a day and just unwind and not do anything.

Re: $900 Bankroll till it bust....
are you there to play poker, or slots? all this sounds meta -EV, from SO many angles..
i would vote to get away from this dude but your decision, obviously.
the situation is putting some extra cash in your pocket for now, but does not seem to be sharpening your poker/life decisions.
on the other hand, if u are looking for an interesting adventure(and are willing to put up with the risks(personally i don't think the risk/reward ratio very good) then fine.
definitely keep us posted, get some good sleep, and be very careful

Re: $900 Bankroll till it bust....
if this story is true, ask "joe" if he robbed a bank or something.
i get the strange feeling that "joe" is writing about himself in the 3rd person. who are you fleeing from, fleeing fish?

Good observation , I was thinking the same ..
"Joe" ...?
Money does not seem legit if this is all true .
Not to mention doesn't any of this seem slightly off to you? When something is to good to be true , it is ...

Re: $900 Bankroll till it bust....
Never thought it would come off like that. No....If I had 110K I would not be spending it like this. You will just have to take my word for it.

I was drunk and needed to stay awake to avoid getting yelled at by security.... sue me I spent $100 on a slot.
As far as what this is.....my focus is not on poker but kind of going with the flow right now, I'm not "living it up" and spending and gambling everything....I'm being somewhat prudent with the money while enjoying my self a little bit. Why not? The only thing that would stop any of you is the skepticism......If you were in my shoes and met the guy you'd prob take advantage, have a little fun but as I'm doing, staying vigilant of the situation.
I'm just as skeptical as you guys...I'll never really be able to fully enjoy it as I anticipate the other shoe to drop. I would never come to Vegas with 110K with the goals of burning though it on some crazy weekend of gambling, blow and hookers.
It is what it is. Poker has taken a back seat to this truly bizarre amazing and epic journey. I'm going to enjoy it while it last and see what happens. Is it a risk? Maybe, hell probably, but coming off not being employed for six months and taking a gamble with $900 with no real prospect of a future....its a risk worth taking......

I've done nothing illegal, my name is not tied to anything.....so while I'm skeptical, I'm going to enjoy it. If that is wrong....or unwise....hell coming to Vegas in the first place was too and look where that's gotten me. I really do not care where he got the money r what he does with it. It's his business and has no impact on me either way. Right or wrong that is how I feel. If it goes south, I bail with whats in my pocket...simple as that. I've told him that.

Re: $900 Bankroll till it bust....
If you guys are being so straight up with each then why don't you just ask him (1) where he got the money from, and (2) why he is intent on lighting such a large sum of cash on fire?

I was thinking the same thing.
FleeingFish - If this story is true
Even if it is "good times" now , Trust me it is not going to last forever.
Take the money you have earned and makeup an excuse to leave town...
Family in Cali?
Got to go back home?
etc etc etc........
Like the great Steve Miller says
".........take the money and run"
