- shoot guns
- drive fast cars
- (early morning because it's hotter than hell) hike Red Rock
- massage

Or go learn craps at a "cheap" table. Hell, with $5k, you could have an absolute ball doing that. There is nothing more fun than a hot craps table.
have you hiked Red Rock? Was thinking about doing that when I get out there in a few weeks and a trip report would be cool to read.

OP, if I get my wire in before 2PM, I will be able to wire to the cage today and have the money by tomorrow. I just booked the $520 round-trip ticket to Vegas.

Fingers crossed.

thanks again for sharing Neb. I promise no one finds your updates repetitive
I just picked $5k because it's one chip and less than 2 big bets for OP. Certainly don't need that much. $5k is more than the majority of Vegas visitors' whole bankroll and many of them can play for a whole weekend on it.

This isn't really about the money though. Just trying to point out that there are plenty of other fun things to do besides BJ while he's in town for a while.

Snapped off one rack of yellows, plus a few purple because I hit a blackjack for the finishing move.

It cost me two pumpkins to do it, though, so this session was a +68k.

I spread much more aggressively this time and definitely took advantage. We shall see if the casino responds...

Thanks for the tips, and great suggestion in general. I have been breaking it up a fair bit, what with a little bit of work emails, a massage each day at the spa, etc. I would love to get to Red Rock, but I'm on the wrong time schedule to do that on this trip, I'm afraid!

I am considering playing some craps tonight based on the many recommendations from you all. If so, I'm sure there will be something to report about. Do you think I can stand next to one of those dealers (is that what they are called in craps?) and get them to tell me what I am supposed to do?

Neb,

I played craps for the first time last November. I showed up early in the morning at an empty table - the crew was just waiting around for someone to come along. I told them I'd ever played before and they were very helpful ( especially showing me how I make a bet for them, hah!). I had a blast for about an hour and ended up doubling my small buyin and no doubt tipping even more than that.

If you play, good luck. Enjoying this great TR, thanks for taking the time to share your amazing experiences with us.

I was a complete craps tard until 2 years ago when we jumped on a table at Rio. Since then have played quite a bit and dealers have always been super helpful. Sometimes the other players can be a bit dicey if you aren't fast about betting but I've found the easiest thing to do is just tell the dealers what bet you want to make and let them put it on for you.

Spoiler:
I'm still a craps tard.

with the way you bet (as long as you press, and its not fun if you dont press) you could win a small fortune at craps even if you bet a little lighter than you do on blackjack

craps dealers are the best, if you want to play on your own they'll up the table min to $100 or $200 and that'll keep away the riff raff, or you can just find a $25 table to get a better balance of ppl who know what theyre doing against people getting overly excited over nothing

I'm sure you could stand near a dealer and have them teach you. I believe they are called croupiers, though I am a craps n00b and could be wrong.

They're called dealers, unless you're in France or a James Bond movie. A lot of casinos will have free lessons during the day when it's slow. Dealers will also help you, but if it's a jammed up game they might not have much time. One thing gets their attention, and that's tokes. Drop a dollar for them and they're all ears.

I haven't really asked for anything, other than a car for a couple errands. I am interested to know what they would do, too. I kind of want to "save" comps so I can get a baller suite for NYE some time. Tbh though, they are going to put the biggest players in those during those peak times, so fat chance.
Wait till I am in Vegas to do your Virgjn craps roll!

The dealers in craps will always suggest playing the passline...the don't pass has better odds albeit small margin but for the money you're playing I would defiantly suggest don't pass with full odds. But then again flips rightt?

Ladies, gentlemen, your attention please.

After a murderous, -$75k, late-night, blackjack tryst, I have decided to pack up my remaining profits and head home. I thought it might come to this anyway, given my tendency to run out of patience with Vegas after 3 or 4 days. But I am still thrilled with the results.

I show a profit of $168k on 22 hours of blackjack averaging about $2.5k/hand. It is possible I am off by as much as 10k in either direction; I am missing something in my notes somewhere and I did not stick around to finalize my front money account before heading to the airport. (They'll wire back the funds a few days later.)

My only regrets are not playing my virgin roll of craps and missing the opportunity to catch up with some of you this weekend.

I have truly enjoyed writing this report, spending time battling with randomness, and reading your many comments and eggings-on. I will leave you with this, my final huzzah for the trip, at the juicy 7/5 DDB game at the gate:

Until next time...
