We originally planed to stay for 3 months.
We had a complete break of 15 days when my uncle arrived in town. Also we had like one day break/week.
The fact that we walk to go to the pokerooms and between them took some time too.

The fact is London is like the culinary centre of the world right now, the variety of cuisine is much wider than in Vegas due to the ethnic diversity and the economy of the city. We've never been more demanding or had higher expectations when it comes to food. We're obsessed with cookery shows on tv and celebrity chefs. The produce in our supermarkets have never been such high quality and we've got local farmers markets running weekly in towns across Britain. I've got Borough Market, which you can't really find an equivalent of in Vegas as far as I know.
That was a serious derail.

+1. We visited London and Paris for 1 week each last summer and I thought the food was actually better in London. Small sample size though.
I could tell there were higher expectations/demands re: food there. I think those Jamie Oliver/G Ramsay/Marco Pierre TV shows made a difference.

Wrong. We stayed a bit in Virginia Water which is outside the city and the food, whether it was Italian or Thai, was fabulous. Good ingredients/techniques.

Come on don't be so easy... it's not an 'America' or 'French' stuff, I would say probably the same if I would have gone 3 months in Macao or somewhere; it's just that far from home I don't have my basic, regular food stuff... pffff
You come to France you would probably complain about the way we drive for instance and hundreds other stuff. And? What's the matter about complaining about sth?
( I should never have mentionned the food stuff in my TR ... to read then such ridiculous or immature statements.(oups I'm complaining))

If I went to France I'd probably have a much larger BR than I do now, so I'm guessing I'd be pretty happy with my vaca. Having said that, every culture has their issues.
I'm glad you had a profitable trip in Vegas and hope to hear about you coming back soon!

Re: 3 Months Couple Grinders Report
Nice post, OP,
Question: How did you managed with tips? Did you tip every pot you won? If you did, how much do you think you wasted on tips? Is you graph with tips or we need to add the tips you gave to dealers? Or you did not tip at all? Chita,

I tip fore sure. Not every pot tho : less than 10$ no tip, but 2 pots less than 10$ almost in a row, I tip. Also if I don't have the opportunity to tip a dealer I find very good, I tip him before he leaves. I tip less bad and slow dealers. I really like to tip depending on how good is the dealer. I usually give like 3$ for a 70-150$ pot then 4$ for >150$, and 5$ for a very huge pot like 700$, maybe it's not enough...
hum, how to evaluate the money spend on tips, good question. I played about 170 sessions, let say 10 pots won per session, that makes 1700 pots won, so probably >2k$ spend on tips...
A friend of mine uses an android app with which he's able to push a button every time he tips thus he knows. (Todd if you read this..?)

Re: 3 Months Couple Grinders Report
OP as an American living in LV, let me say you have all the right to be critical of our food here. To eat affordably you're clearly taking a step down from French cuisine coming here, especially in the casinos. Also if you come back, you need not be so generous w/ yer tipping. Of course thats up to you, but understand LV dealers do well enough, thus doing what's standard is fine. The vast majority of pots won in 1/2nl shouldn't require more than a buck, and $2/3 is a generous max tip. My personal metric is tipping 1% of MY profit (not stack size), rounding down everything. Sorry to derail that way, yes, there are many threads elsewhere here on tipping.

Re: 3 Months Couple Grinders Report
Agreed about the tipping. On my first trip I tipped the same as the OP, but then I realised it was a bit too much over the long run and that a buck tip is a fine tip for most pots (over $30 for me) and I do see people just not tipping ever, and the dealers don't say a word. Big pots I do still tip 2 or 3 and rarely up to 5 if it's a very big pot that I got lucky in. And whenever I tipped more than 1, the dealers did tend to sincerely express thanks. They do realise that you're playing many hours and over those hours tipping them a very decent amount. What I would say is the odd tip to the floor staff who get you into the game is although never expected is really appreciated as well and can reap rewards at times, especially if you're someone like me who asks for a table change often.

^^ This. Going in March and looking to take my first shots at 2/5. Was looking at Venetian, Bellagio, or MGM. Would love to hear about your experiences there.
Also, did you win/table share in any bad beats? Sickest cash game hand you saw? Awesome report!!!
