So I finally have a trip booked worth writing a trip report on (i hope) as I'll be going in November to do insane things and blow endless amounts of cash but first

The Backstory

I'm a 24 yr old low limit grinder from NY now hearing that you would think i grinded 4+tables online and mtt's and hyper turbos etc but nope I'm quite old school and while when it comes to no limit I prefer grinding 6-max my real specialty is medium stakes non holdem games mainly razz and 2-7 but also horse and 8 game however I essentially have never had a bankroll so I would grind the low limits to get into the mixed games grind that and then cash out for life expenses.

My first trip to vegas was back in June and was so successful I literally flew back out 2 days after getting back for more wsop action unfortunately got a really bad case of sinusitis during descent on the flight back to vegas so only spent 1 day there. The first trip involved 2 milly maker bustouts and a 2-7 bubble but was capped by a 2am can't sleep stumble down to the rio (not wsop) room buy in to their nightly turbo with 14 seconds left before late reg ends going into a break giving me a whopping 4bb and binking it for 1k and the worst burger king burger i've ever had

I'll be staying at the rio from the 10th-12th and 17th-20th but haven't decided where I will be for 13th-17th (thinking hotel 32 but could end up being circus circus if the run bad hits)

Goals
create a plan for tournament play(vds and circuit are going on that timeframe)
create a dining plan
utilize the $20 trick to atleast get the reduced cost upgrade at rio
find a good mixed game
win 1 tournament
see 1 show
get 1 reasonable set of clothes so I can do fine dining
net profit 5k
in-n-out
earl of sandwich
secret pizza
gordon ramsay
lotus of siam
avoid death via some method on my birthday
hang out with awesome 2+2'rs
crush rio video poker tournament the last 3 days of my trip

I think that covers everything for now def open to suggestions on where to play (my experience is aria and rio so far) where to eat and where to shop

couple of suggestions

1) try as many poker rooms as you can handle, V, Wynn, Mirage, B etc

2) hook up with a party girl

3) make a milf happy

omitted from the list but def planned are peppermill famous daves finding a game of red dog and plaza cheapo etournies

v and b are on my shortlist i havent heard any good things about wynn or mirage to consider them

aren't 2 and 3 the same thing

I dunno you might have to investigate and let us know what you find out lol

officially adding the orleans to this list as they reportedly run razz horse and rose tournaments

also may have a prebirthday 2 day trip next week hooray for free flights

the Sunday $100 7p Horse at Orleans is a good tourney to play, hit or miss though in my past trips on how many runners they may get....could be a low of around 40, up to like 80 or so last last trip and some really really bad players who don't know the games or strategy in each which is good lol

also just added jen harman's charity event at planet hollywood on my bday to my schedule also as of right now staying at rio 10th-12th el cortez(thanks to DSB for the inspiration) 12th-14th and rio 17th-20th still trying to figure out 14th-17th

Are you looking to net 5K over your buy-ins and/or trip expenses? Either way, that's a pretty ambitious goal for such a short time here. You're going to need a serious case of rungood to make that happen my friend.

$20 dollar trick was a success (sorta couldn't get cariocas but got a samba for 20 bucks a night).

While killing time for check-in i sat in on a rio bounty tournament that fired at 4 runners 500 gtd 300 to 1st 200 to 2nd we got a few lat entrants i managed to get 2 bounties early but ran into a drooler who called a 3 barrel with the bottom end of a straight calling on 3 spade flop spade turn board pair river for a solid chunk of my stack and then he spewed.

I managed to see 1 hand better than aj the entire tournament getting aces limping utg+1 looking to limp get a few callers and then squeeze on a raise ended up 5 way to flop and i flop top set get it in all fold i chip up.

I then went kq<88 a9s<ak a8s<53 to bust.

Now figuring out dinner and then out on the town

stuck around 300 lost a little in pits then had a wild up and down session at the rio was mixing my game up a ton and had found a groove when i got coolered straight vs flush when a significant amount got in prior to the river making our hands and then 4 bet shoved aqs into qq 3 bettor who was new at the table for about 130 my initial raise was utg so i felt like i could get a few solid to good hands to fold in that spot

man, I just cant see degenning away ion the pits at the Rio

Get to the strip, or even downtown if thats more your speed

Went back in won a ton off a drunk guy who ended up getting 86'd peaked at this when table broke new table started fun when a 3/6 limit subgame was created but as we got short handed deck hit me in face over 2 hours I had 41 pp 17 a8+s 1 ak and 1 qjs and won a total of 3 of those as board kept giving me a kitn ended up getting stacked k10<q7 on kq67 2 flush board as the 1/4 shot 100 dollar drawing happened and obv bricked so -200 and -500 on day and feeling dejected

Drowning sorrows with roasted chicken corn and cheese scramble good meal decent price corn liquid hurts the potential

side note for that 2 hour period i never had worse then a suited gappers

Currently in for 220 won 200 pot triple barreling w 4th pair on 4 card straight board got called and was good and then won another chunk when riveted nuts 40 bet into me raise to 100 and got called
