Yeah if it was me with jacks.. i would say let him show his both cards.. if he got me beat then i will fold my JJ . I dont like giving free information. but ManU guy should have said something to dealer rather just staring. but still the other guy just showed a 4s and as a dealer u have to go per person per person. Ask the 1st guy to table both his cards and then the next.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of awkwardness at showdowns as well. Doesn't seem like everyone understands that general 'aggressor rule'. Not all dealers enforce it either. I called a guy's river bet the other night and he just stared at me and said, "What you got?" I responded, "You bet." He just mucked, so I mucked and took the pot. It was his last ditch effort to get me to show. Showdown takes longer than it should.

That JJ situation is absurd. The dealer is clearly in the wrong. No way he should be telling someone anything close to that here. Some people are there to drink and have fun. As long as they aren't berating the dealers, players, and floor staff, and are still functional, dealers should be able to put up with that. Annoying, yes, especially if they aren't a tipper, but I'm sure the job isn't always roses.

A lot of casinos, and most online sites for that matter, go by position, not by the last aggressor.

Any updates OP?

My grind is done, made $4.53 an hour over about 200 hours, pretty pitiful. Found some nice 1/3 games in southern CA that seemed to play deep fairly regularly, worth checking out if you ever get sick of vegas.

Hi all,
sorry for the long delays in my updates. I couldnt keep lot of hours last week. Had a blast in cali for the long weekend. Met one of my childhood friend over there and it was lot of fun.
Anyway back at vegas on tuesday and m forcing to keep hours now. I brought my xbox along (my contribution to the room :P) Hopefully no more procrastination in keeping in more hours on poker unlike last week.
I had 2 winning sessions this week. Last night i am not in mood to play long session. So I finally hit and ran Yes I did it!
I flopped the nut straight 5 way in a flush draw board like the 3rd hand i played. Doubled up and in like 3 more hands i got up as if i was waiting to join that tourney goin around and walked. Felt like an idiot but whatever. Tried this really cool tapas restaurant in Aria with my roomate. Food was gr8 there. I need to do more of this trying good restaurant thing.
Came home and for some reason opened my old online poker clients to see if have any balance.
I had like 60 bucks in carbon and like 30 bucks in bovada. So how do we spend those money? We played blackjack on carbon :P after tons of time trying to get even, we switched to PLO Had lot of fun. Then in bovada there was a tourney goin on for 10 bucks. He agreed to pay 10% of whatever i win. It was a 45 man silly tourney. I ended up having 2nd in chips when we were down to 6 handed but lost 2 big pots and busted 33 < kk prolly not a good idea especially with 3 shorties . Anyway its been a while since i played a tourney and i felt i did okay. I registered to Utimate poker and prolly will deposit some money in it today and grind some tourneys over the weekend. But i am still planning to keep more hours live than online.
ITs friday babay! so strip time!

My stats so far:
Won: 2151$
Hourly:16.41$ (131.1 hrs)
win session % 61.54% losing : 38.46%

Cheers!

Hey Sid,

definitely sign up for Ultimate Poker. They have a 100 $ deposit bonus that's fairly easy to qualify for ( took me a little over 1k hands ). They're also doing a 5k gtd tourny for 5 $ next week, which most likely result in a nice overlay... speaking of which, ph's gtd series is getting overlays too. Prefer cash > tournies, but i'm not going to pass up on potential value!

hitting the jackpot has made me lazy, but having online poker allows me to play on weekdays w/ o going to the strip. Just wish i can access my hand history easier but meH.
Full live grind tomorrow, then Bears kickoff Sunday!

I deposited 200$ in that site but looks like tournaments are crap! I will prolly try few cash games but i dont see myself playing in this for long time.
Oh BTW i heard they the jackpot again like yesterday! wtf is goin on? 5 times already in past 2 months ...thats crazy. In tampa hardrock they didnt hit badbeat in 1.5 yrs at one point.

Yesterday I played a 110$ tourney at Orleans and ran bit deep. Avg entries there is 250 players which is really good. I think i will play this every week now. Looks like lot of value. After my bust out 18bb AJss<AQ I started playing semi drunk at Bellagio as I thought I will have to join my friends at stripclub. But the game was so good and i was doin so good when i am drunk and decided to play a bit longer than what i planned. I ended up with a 500$ profit that session. met more regs last night. But was so exhausted when got home.
Need to get a break in live tourneys. Or maybe i am tuning up to cash games my actual game is changing. I will start to write notes like i used to in tourneys again.
Cant believe its over a month in vegas already!

Total won: 2546
Hourly 18.52

Will be back at strip tonight for more action.
Cheers!

Your off to a great start. I like the idea of playing the Orleans tourney, especially if you get added ev from leader board promotions as a regular.

playing drunk and going to strip clubs sounds baller, but definately -ev.
maybe once in a while if you only bring like $100. Let me know how going into a strip club drunk with a poker bankroll on you turns out.

Spoiler:
from personnel experience, I think I spent about $500 trying that.

I actually didn't go to strip club. Just picked up my roommate, ate breakfast and left home. I know I can't survive Vegas if I am not careful ;-)
Also I never drink while playing poker. This is literally 1st time drinking at table after I came to Vegas. I usually drink in last orbit when I decide to leave ;-) some of the regs were surprised to see me semi drunk. Lol. Was a fun night!

oh prolly that was me. been playing a lot at aria and bellagio these days. How are you doin? If u see me just text me or something, i could always use a break If i am having a good session u will get a free dinner, he he

Update: this whole weekend I just played at bellagio. Been seein some big pros like Joseph cheong etc at that room. Maybe I should start to get used to it rather than be exited everytime I see some big time pro. :P

Sat: I sat at this table where 2 Indian guys were playin. No offense, but I donno why every random indian i play at cash games are SO bad. I mean i have played with few that are extremely good too. Like back in florida in tournament circuits, mukhul pahuja ...that guy was a beast though. I heard he finished top 10 in that 10mil GT tourney recently. Good job
I might now categorize any random indian player i play at 1-3 cash as bad passive fish unless i see them do something. Like i used to categorize younger to mid age asians as extreme gamblers who like to see every flop. J5 off is in their range lol. Anyway one of this guy was really bad. Maybe he saw too much TV poker or something, he was wearing a rayban and was tanking every street! OMG he almost kept me on tilt. he tank calls 100$ on turn with like with 40$ behind and then tanks/stares? forever to call that 40$ on the river. wtf! are you really that ******ed bro? I lost track of how many times he reloded. every1 was frustrated at the table as he was slowing the game, but he was the ATM so we gave lot of time before we started calling clocks. Which btw i didnt know we could do in cash games I always thought it was in tourneys.
Also it seems like bellagio dealers are not aware of NOT checking/calling the nuts when last to act on river. I asked 2 dealer who claimed they were working over 5 yrs there and one of them was so shocked abt that rule and even went on to say that their tournament have no such rule. One of them is was so adamant about it and said no tournament he dealt have that rule! WTF. I think i am loosing respect a little bit for bellagio dealers(jus kiddin). Donno if this guy thought i was some random foreigner or something but its twice now(or he was having a rough day). I even offered to show a WSOP hand where Moon got penalized for checking nuts at river in pos in Main event. But he didnt want to check on it. whatever, i guess ignorance is a bliss for him or something. Next dealer didnt knew about that/ or was trying to cover this dealer? But this guy wanted to see if such thing as penalizing ever happened in a tourney and so I showed that hand in youtube and he asked why they have such rule and so I explained. Except for 1 older asian lady at my table no one at my table knew about that rule. No wonder i should play more often at Bellagio. It was fun saturday. I was up like 300$ even after having a slow start.

Sunday: i was down early. There was this really aggro Aussie lady who is a 2-5 player. She raises 12$ mid. I make it 35 at button with KQ. she calls. (we have 380$ effective)
Flop A 105 she check called 50$ turn was 7 she leads 80$ I decided to go all in (as she might fold on river if another spade show up) She snap calls with 77s. River is a 5 and she scoops the massive pot.
Slowly i lost like 200$ uneventfully with big hands not connecting. Lost one hand with a shortstack when my KK < K10. I think i was stuck 2 buyins at this point when i got into an interesting hand with the same Aussie lady.

She raised 12$ mid pos 2 guys called i called at button with K4
Flop: K 9 8 She CHECKS. two guys check. i lead 35$ into 50$ pot. now she check raises 90$ I think effective was 300$ rest folded and i decided to call as this is extremely dry board and last big hand her betting pattern indicated she wasnt scared of draw boards.. she check called 2 spaded Ace high flop with pocket 77. It made no sense that she is now all of a sudden scared of straight draw or something..unless she had one. It was a sick play if she was leveling. Turn was 5 which gave me a backdoor. She shoved and I took few secs before I call. I think i would have called off even without that backdoor with my note on how she played that big hand earlier. River bricks.
She quickly says "your king is good" even before i showed my hand. Table was somehow shocked to see my call with K4. huh? She was mad at me now :P
"How could u call me with K4 on the flop...what did u keep me on!! ?" I just smiled, pretend to be in my fishy world and said... "I like to get lucky and i was on tilt too " " you are so lucky u made a flush draw on turn!"
Felt like that kid in rounders when he somehow was so happy for bluffing chan :P BTW I hated that scene in that movie even though i love that movie as a whole.

I ended up cashing like 800$ by end of that exhaustive day. I am just happy I crawled little bit back out of that big loosing session before i called it a day. I was down 400$ for the whole day. Could have been bad if that K4 hand didnt help or if i was over-thinking in that hand and she had like 99s and said "Suprise! MFer!"

I didnt care about the overall losing session.. and felt good goin back to my room. Bought LOT of food with my now seemingly endless amount of comps. Watched NY loose in that football game. I am a big time noob in american football but that last few mins was really interesting/exciting for me although I didnt know which team i should root for. Should be paying more attention to american football from now on
Is it like u pick a fav team on where u are from/stayin? or u just pick a team coz its good? I have seen like Jason mercier wear lot of Dophin jersey even though i heard that team suck big time :P
So help me pick one favorite team so that I can buy some jersey, memorize players in that team and act like I know this ****

See ya all
(Hope this thread is not that boring as u expected )

Lol we figured.

I used to go for the Broncos when I lived in Vegas, and I never lived in Denver. I don't follow football any more so I couldn't help more on that.

I know you said something about disliking pics somewhere, but it does add a nice touch to see a few itt from time to time.

Btw have you seen my friend Dane around yet? A chat with him is +ev

Dane is the one with the hat. I used to warn him about having fake dice in a casino. They are set to roll 7 or 11 lol. He doesn't always have the dice but is always wearing the hat and jackets. Those are fortunes from fortune cookies in his hat, and he has the dream catcher hanging on the side.

I've been looking and looking for my poker logs from live 1-2 in vegas. Can't find them. I wanted to share my results with you. I had incredible results over 10 months straight. Very few losing sessions, and many days over 1k, just in 1-2. Sorry, I know specifics would be more credible. My best places were MGM, Ballys and IP (gone now I understand). I ended up getting married and having a child with my wife and picking back up my career. In hindsight, I wish I continued with the poker's, but it didn't feel like the responsible path with a new life being introduced. I wish you the best bro!!

Is this really a widespread rule? I've never seen it called or enforced in the tournies I've played. What if you are tired or there is a draw-filled board and you don't realize you have the nuts? I see THAT happen quite a bit, but have never seen penalties for it.

They enforce it here at the Hardrock Tulsa, but in my 14 yrs in Vegas, I never saw it enforced

Could be lol samplesize on my part but Pechanga's 1/3 is capped at 100 bbs but generally half the table was between 200-300bbs or deeper in my 30 hours there.

Confirmed that Pechanga's 1/3NL is 100bb max which is rare here.
