Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING
What do people generally use for escrow? I know from the sticky that Bobo and Gonso won't do it (for good reason). And the few other mods that I've asked said no as well. I guess the danger is receiving money from a sketchy account can get your account locked and funds confiscated? That's understandable then, but how do people usually do it?

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING
Question:
What sort of verification will FTP send if something is bought from the store. If I am having someone buy something for me and I am transfering the money after they buy it is there going to be an official email that lets me know the thing has actually been bought in my name or is there any way i can protect froms scamming here?

They send an email to the FTP account holder that purchased the item. It will contain an order number, order date, product ordered and name/address of the person that the item will be shipped to.

There's always fake emails unless it has tracking and whatnot

Quick question
Sorry if this doesn't belong here but there use to be a section in the Ft forums where you could request a middle man to help with the sale of FT points. It was usually a mod of the forum so basically noone got scammed. His name was clamper and I was hoping he was still around either here or on the ft forum and would still be willing to be a middle man?

no joke, i think clamper died there was a post in zoo about it.
There is ppl that will do "middle man for u" buy most mods wont, anyhow why do u think u can trust the said middle man. We pretty much do p2p purchases here and protect ourselves with a bit of forethough and research.

Merged your thread here. Yeah most mods won't do it now, except maybe if they know a guy personally. It's a chore for one, and for my part I don't want to be constantly involved in transactions with people I don't know. Much as I'd like to help out it's a problem waiting to happen.
Also, abominable was the poster who passed away, not Clamper13. Here is that thread

cmon.
we could also start and "FTP Point BUY/SELL thread" to clean this place up.

Well we're not banning used book sales here, because personally I think that's one of the more "ideal" things to sell here. But I wouldn't have a problem with having them all in a single thread. Same goes for a FTP points thread.
Bobo?

Problem is, the software doesn't require approval to post in existing threads, so we'd have to be constantly weeding out the non-approved posters.

We could put "with Marketplace approval" in the thread title, but yeah there's always going to be a couple guys we have to delete what else is new

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING
If there was one books thread I'd probably subscribe and not visit this forum at all: There's a few books I want to read sometime (but don't care if I never do) so having separate threads makes me browse this forum looking for new book threads while finding other crap I don't need to buy to buy.

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING
Just a general question, I'm in SLC and bought more playoff tickets for the upcoming series against the Lakers than I actually need, what's the best place to sell them? I checked out ebay, but they usually use paypal as a payment method, which I don't have. I don't have an american bank account either.

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING
Sorry if it was stated before, but if I want to create a new thread in marketplace. Do I have to join group (marketplace) in my control panel? I have read the sticky and I posted that I agreed with the terms and conditions already.
