Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING

Yeah I mean I guess it's not a huge problem just figured it couldn't hurt to remind people what the entire point of references actually was. Was just kinda frustrated after getting the millionth request to be a reference for a transfer/stake because I've read their posts on 2p2 and maybe exchanged a pm or two but never done any monetary transactions with them and I know that a lot of people probably just say sure and that some people may not realize how lax some people are with saying their name can be used as a reference.

Hey Zach,

I wanna say NoahSD blogged a bit about that topic.

Yea, I haven't read it recently, so sorry if it's not exactly what you're discussing, but here's the link http://www.nsdpoker.com/2011/08/the-vouching-system/

I can't sell my giftcards in the marketplace because I'm not market place approved. Would it be possible to sell it on the person to person transfer thread for a bank transfer or am I out of luck?

If a person has started a thread, such as http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15...arbon-1111639/ and is asking for a gift-card you are able to sell it to him. You're just not allowed to start your own threads.

For the person to person thread, it needs to be gift card to site or vice versa, non poker transactions, such as gift card for bank transfer are not allowed in there, poker only.

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING

Can multiple codes be loaded on to the same GD card or do I have to get a fresh card for every new transaction I do?

So if I sell 4 $100 transfers for GD can I get all $400 onto 1 card?

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING

^^ Don't do multiple loads or you'll get banned from GD. Do maybe 1 a week if you want to be safe, but multiple loads, even small ones of $20, will get you cut off from using GD no matter what you say/what the reason is.

It's not amount of money, it's frequency.

If you did what you are asking it would almost surely raise the flagging system. You may get away with a few in a week, but a few in a day is suicide. Their explanation/stance is that they are not a money transfer service.

You can "get $400 onto one card" but do it in one lump. Moneypacks are sold up to $500, unless you get them at Walmart in which they allow up to $1,100, but they are the only ones that sell them over $500.

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING

My apologies, I'm having a problem with Pokerstars concerning a cashout in regards to staking and I wasn't sure where to put this.

First let me say, after Black Friday I'm very apprehensive about leaving funds online, even a few hundred dollars. This past week I loaded approx. $600 into my Pokerstars account primarily to stake 2+2 members. Fortunately one of those members had a pretty good week and I profited a few hundred dollars. I went to cashout most of the funds today and Pokerstars refused the cashout.

Here's the email I received:

Quote:
Hello keyguy1967,

After a routine review of your latest cashout it has come to our attention that most of the funds that you cashed out came directly from a transfer received from another player on our site.

Our transfer tool is only meant to help players fund their accounts when they are unable to deposit with deposit options currently available to them. All funds added to your account via transfer must be used to play at our tables.

We are restricted by our license agreement in the Isle of Man and this prevents us from being able to offer a real money transfer service for the purpose of cashing out.

In this case, your cashout has been cancelled and funds have been returned to your account balance. You are welcome to play with the funds or to return it back to the sender.

You should use a money transferring service outside of PokerStars for transfers which are not meant to be played at our tables.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at any time.

PokerStars Security

Now I realize we aren't talking about a large amount of dollars, but they are mine after all and if I want them shouldn't I be allowed to have them without donking them off on Pokerstars.

Is this a common problem concerning transferred funds?

Once again mods I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong area and could you please move it to the appropriate area if need be.

Thanks.

Re: Marketplace Questions, Random Stuff - NOT FOR BUYING/SELLING

It's called a play-through requirement and is common on most sites.

You deposited, transferred and rec'd a transfer.

Stars will have a minimum playing requirement for any amount you wish to withdraw.

Start playing.
Or ask if you can pay them an amount to cover the fees they paid to accept your deposit.

Thanks for that RW.

I'm sure Pokerstars is well aware of the fact players are being staked not only here, but other places (PTP,etc) as well.
Not sure why the would want to hinder that process, but it's their site I guess.

I know I won't be doing much staking from here on out. I can donk off my money any time I want, which is why I'd rather use it to back players much better than me.

Stars has openly said they don't support staking and they don't recommend you do it. They are not interested in recovering funds lost when your horse goes "rogue" or otherwise having to be an arbiter in matters between players

You have two options, play through the amount of vpps required for your cashout, or transfer the funds to someone else in exchange for a amazon giftcard or something.

I guess a third option would be to reinvest those funds into another horse as well

Ohhh okay, I didn't realize that. I was under the mistaken assumption they had no problem with it. I figured if staking helped players enter bigger tourneys, Stars would be happy raking the bigger buy-ins.

Thanks for the suggestions.
