if someone devised a plan to sell insurance for packages, they would provide the shareholder with the appropriate winnings in case of scamming, would that be allowed?

Could someone explain how exactly the green dot money packs work?

Do we order one online and then buy a code on 2+2 to add money to it? If so what is the fee for adding money? I know theres like a $6 monthly fee as well. Any help appreciated.

I have a question regarding backing deals...Last year i had a backer but he decide it to end the stake due to some personal situation, like the fact he´s from the Washington area, was very bussy at school and wasnt that ready to deal with a horse so i end up with a $280ish make up...At the beggining of this year i started a new backing deal and went great from the month of january..All of the sudden this guy contact me over AIM requesting his money back, wich i found it weird cuz i was under the impression that if the backer decide it to end the stake the horse its not under the obligation to pay the backer back the money he owed by make up while not under the stake, specially if it was the backer decision to end it.
Whats ur opinion about this?

I dont believe you owe him any money. If down the road you both wished to resume staking you could discuss the makeup amount, he has no right to get money from you now tho.

What was the agreement on MU? This really should probably go in this thread.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/13...4/index12.html

I'd say w/no MU agreement on how to deal w/it and the backer ended it (not allowing you to get out of MU) then I don't think it's fair he's asking for it back now. This isn't meant to be taken as literal advice, but I'm pretty sure if the backer ends it in MU he's eating the costs of that. Please don't take that as literal advice, but that's how I understood it w/no agreement.

Potamito, unless it is stated otherwise in the agreement, you have no obligation to pay him back. If you had to pay him back the MU owed, what would be the point of getting a stake in the first place?

Please direct him to this thread and read the last few replies if he has any doubts. Almost every regular investor/stakee will agree with this.

Barring some unusual agreement, if the backer wants to end a stake prematurely that's his discretion. However he can't hold the stakee hostage and collect makeup.

A backer breaking off the stake early and collecting the makeup from the player wouldn't be a stake at all, it'd be a freeroll. If you have to grind all the hands and cover your losses out of pocket too, then what's the function of a backer? And why are you giving him part of your profits? Makes no sense.

I sold shares to the Heartland Poker Tour and shipped 100k. One of my investors is from the UK. What is standard procedure for handling the taxes w/ a non US citizen from the UK? Thanks in advance.

You need to pay taxes on your percentage of the winnings. You should ship the investor his percentage of the winnings and he should pay taxes (or not because of UK laws) on his share.

Not sure what form you need to fill out, but I think there is one. You should search through the legislation forum:

Wondering about these cards. When people buy these cards in the marketplace do they already have a card and then transfer the funds between the cards? Are these transfers reversible/safe?

I assume you're referring to the gift card sub forum. What usually happens (and is the safest way) is if you're sending cash after getting the code is to put that code to buy a different code/card and then send cash. I was scammed pretty hard by a guy who would buy a legit card, took pics of said card, had legit balance and I sent and drained card as soon as it went through. Use caution, check their stats (no hands/low hands played is a red flag).

random suggestion:

seems like whenever someone wants to pay another poster to do some menial task (book airline flights, find a rental home, etc) there's no real correct place to do this. usually half of the requests are split into bbv and the other half are in general marketplace. my suggestion is to create another MP subforum for random requests. probably a terrible idea but w/e, figured i'd post it as i imagine it would get a decent amount of traffic.
