My night had went this way as I had a bad beat on KK and called with a J3off suit and he hit his set of JJJ on the river

any suggestions?

I'm not sure I'll 3bet with anything but JJ+,AK here ,but the call is ok considering he might have any two cards + you have the odds to call even if he has a hand at top of his range. You need to win 32% out of 100 to breakeven.So if he has something like AJ+ TT+ you have 34% to win which is definitely not a bad call.

you should have shoved pre-flop. KhQh is not the kind of hand you want to 3-bet with shallow and with potentially 3 or 4 callers. That's how i would play it in what you described your situation was at that moment, but normally i would just call.

I wouldn't be 3-betting here with kq as if he shoves its making you call with the amount of money you have behind. And more than likely your flipping at best.. Imo!
