Re: Why do good players lose?
i have skimmed over your post ,i am a successful live grinder, and a couple things caught my eye, first one reason players at your local casino may be reluctant to play with you or may leave when you sit down is that you described yourself as LAG who likes to play big pots, a lot of live grinders ,or ok some who arent playing with sufficient bankroll dont like playing with lag players because variance increases ,and puts there top pair at risk, or there afraid of bigger hands getting sucked out on.On the flip side there are players who will relish the oppurtunity to play with you because you are loose as a goose and not afraid to put chips in the pot, so a good tag with sufficient bank that can weather the variance storm, and can sit back and wait for you to make mistakes.
now the reason you cant win lately might have something to do with your playing style at this level,i truly believe that in most 1-2 1-3 live games no matter if your on west or east coast that the best way to play{most profitable is tag},sure the lag player will have those sessions where the deck hits you and you can walk away up 1000 or 1500,but if your buyin in for 200 and play lag from start to finish, your setting yourself up to crash and burn in my eyes, although you do have a great bankroll to play lag at this level, 1700 BB is a monster bankroll at this level ,which lets face it most players at 1-2 aint workin with this,so my advice is change your style especially when you start your session, until you at least double up then you can mix it up,go back to basics if you feel your runnin bad, dont keep laggin it up, you lost all those buys at your local casino,so LAG isnt workin ,change up or try different level take shot at 2-5

Re: Why do good players lose?
i just seen that the max buy in at crown 1-2 is 120
now wonder you cant win the game is too small to sit down and play lag ,unless you sit down and get smacked with deck, play higher or change your style

Re: Why do good players lose?
You have a mental game flaw - OVERCONFIDENCE. Do not despair though because there are plenty of books out there on the psychology of the game that will help you. If you have a kindle or a kindle app (which every aspiring poker player should have so they can read anything on the go) buy a book on poker psychology. A winning player is a humble player. Make yourself likeable at the table. Try to make yourself more discrete. If everyone knows who you are, people will learn how you play. Consequently, good players will make adjustments. Just from reading your post, I would love to play with you and crack your ass. You don't want that image. You want a friendly image of people wanting to play with you. And if you have so many buy ins, move up in stakes and stop grinding it out in 1/2. If you can crush 1/2, you can crush 2/5. Hope this helps.
