Whats the game of the future?

Im starting this thread in the coaching area as i want to know what people think is best to get coaching on for the future?

Hyper Turbos?
Omaha?
STT/18Mans?

As NL is getting so tough to beat what should we be looking at improving on for the future for the most money? Omaha a serious cash contender?

Or should we stay with SNG for the better Stars Rakeback rewards now its gone to WC?

Re: Whats the game of the future?

If NL is getting too tough for you, I don't think moving games is going to fix that issue.

The problem is, while the other games might be softer, they often have less valuable information about them online and require a ramp up period of learning the game at a high level.

Now, if you're a successful NL player currently who just is looking for a higher potential winrate, learning something like mixed games or cap PLO or playing at specific casinos in your area, those might be worthwhile ideas.

But if you're struggling at NL, other games are not likely the answer, as there is less info out there for most other games that could be termed "softer" (I'm not sure if they are relatively softer though in many cases).

I predicted a few years ago that PLO would become as mainstream as NLH, still hoping thats going to happen

I doubt PLO is ever becoming as popular, its just too complex for the average guy who likes watching poker on Tv.

Ye. Just when some of the major shows started doing PLO cash, like aussie millions, poker after dark, all did some PLO shows. I thought the TV poker audiance might have been getting bored seeing AK v QQ all in pre all the time

PLO, PLO8, and NLO8 are the games of future I believe. So much more "gambling" and degens love it.

Nothing wrong with preferring Omaha if that's you, but expecting it to overtake NLH for the general rec players is not realistic

Re: Whats the game of the future?

With the WC change at stars there has been tons of action at 8game. The game is great being 6max it is more exciting then fullring. You would think stud games would take forever but there are tables that have 80-100 hands per hour.
