Allow me to clarify. By losses I mean any money Jason scammed these guys out of.

"Jason Ho, you sir are actually worse than the morans that you scammed, because you made a more severe intellectual blunder. YOU GOT CAUGHT."

Outside of taking a few hits to his "rep" though, he got away with it! Despite your weird ranting, n one is going to physically harm him.

Every poster except you has said they handled it well. You are entitled to you opinion of course - it's just quite obviously a minority one.

So is Jason Ho paying the 40% he "borrowed" from the staking fund?

I think this is completely (and very obviously) unrealistic.

For sure StoxPoker gave this character a golden opportunity to scam.

StoxPoker's selection, retention, and endorsement of Jason Ho gave him the ideal platform to contact his victims.

The rest was a private matter.

If I was one of these guys I'd at least be contemplating a Camp Macau part II (This time its personal). Maybe the Stox re-embursement could cover the airfare.

Re: Where did the Jason Ho thread get moved to?

all this almost beggars belief, but i am very impressed with Jim's response to an obviously very serious, incredibly embarrassing lapse by his company, which I can't believe continued for so long. I only wish other internet poker 'institutions' would approach analogous situations in the same transparent manner. I think Bronx really is in the minority regarding your response above. It reflects as well on Stox as Jason reflected badly on them.

When will the community learn that if internet poker is going to have a sustainable future we must do our utmost to not let such things happen in the first place, but if they do, they must be dealt with transparently and thoroughly? Jim's approach and response is unfortunately at odds with a more self-serving attitude displayed with many recent incidents. They're indicative of trying to just 'hush things up' or trying to pass them off with a bit of flannel, for fear acknowledging them in a more frank manner will damage to the industry at large. But such an attitude conversely just keeps storing up trouble for the future internet poker.

I hope I don't sound too melodramatic, but whilst this industry continues to flounder around in legal ambiguity surely its even more crucial institutions, and indeed players themselves, police themselves as rigorously and transparently as possible, or else the whole deck of cards will come down? Seeing another thread as WTF!!!!! as this one can't help but compound such fears.

Trying to ending on a positive note though; I'm once again grateful that 2+2 continues to be a forum where such issues can be exposed, explored and discussed (however messily). The importance of this cannot be underestimated. With that in mind, Mods do you really think it's appropriate this thread is in this forum with this title? (and I'm interested to see what TT's response is when he gets back up to speed, but I'm sure everyone is grateful for his efforts assisting Jim).

Rather than remove the videos, you should replace them with a series of videos in which a few of stox's best coaches, in a sort of round-table discussion format, provide new voiceover commentary that dissects Ho's analysis and corrects it. At least some good education could come of this farce.

PS: Wouldn't hurt to make them free public videos either.
