Should I stick with one coach or many?

I will like to know if I should get one coach and stick with him, or get coached by different people so you can learn something from each???

It seems that at earlier stages sticking to one coach is better but not sure... any ideas?

I would suggest sticking with 1 until you get pretty good. It will take about 5 lessons for the coach to understand your game pretty well.
Also, I would do a session and see how it goes. Then get more if it works out.

After some time it's not a bad Idea to switch it up and get new advice. GL

Don't take your coaches word as gospel. Make sure you are always questioning why it is what they are telling you. I'm not sure how far along you are in development as a player. If you already feel fundamentally sound I think opinions from a couple of coaches is valuable. Incorporate what you like and throw out ideas that don't mesh with your overall game.

I don't think it's as cost effective to get coaching right away though. Books (2+2 has some great authors) and training videos are a great way to build a foundation. Make sure you shop around for a coach too. The market is sooo saturated with coaches of all different levels.

They will shape it not determine it. They will most likely encourage you to play how you feel comfortable style wise (LAG, TAG etc) and expand from there.

Stick with one...no need to complicate things and get different people trying to tell you different things. Utilize what he has to tell you.

Re: Should I stick with one coach or many?

You definitely only want to have one coach, ESPECIALLY if you are just beginning.

What you want to look for in a coach is someone who not only tells you what you should do, but also explains WHY and the concepts behind the actions.

Anyways, the reason why you want only one coach is that there are a million different ways to approach a subject and its possible that if you have multiple coaches they may have contradictory methods of instruction that will ultimately just confuse you.

As a coach, I like to take my clients on a certain path of development that will generate different "aha" moments throughout the course of their development. If they were getting coached by someone else at the same time, that coaching could screw up my lesson plan and end up confusing my client. Especially since beginners can't wait to make all those advanced moves they've seen on Poker After Dark...

anyways, one coach at a time...
