I'm very honest with oneself, regarding my poker game. I'm a semi-professional player and I need some help with my biggest leak. I need a POA (Plan of action) to fix this leak.

Lately I've been losing with 2nd and 3rd nutted hands when I'm capable of folding to a stronger hand. I read post-flop well but tend to payoff these hands. I confident my leak has to do with my slowing down and think.

Slow Down and Think - When stacks are deep and I'm holding a very strong holding I inject logic not to make sure I don't over play a one pair hand when stacks are deep. I don't want nor do I need to play a large pot that will cost a good portion if not all my chips.

I'm very conscience not to go broke with Pocket Aces when the table average has over 100BB . So with those Aces my villain my check-raise me on either a wet or dry board.

Now what do I do? This is where my leak begins.

So I need to SLOW DOWN AND THINK !!!!

What does the Villain's check-raise mean? Does it signifying they have two pair or better?

Let me give you a live game example that happen to me recently. I open the pot with JJ with 50K (Blinds are 600/1200 200a), and my buddy Jason, 30K (Effective stack) calls my raise of 3300.
Flop come T63 (Rainbow).
I Cbet 7300 and Jason quickly goes all-in.

Trouble is brewing.... I don't think through all my options. My initial thoughts was PF (Preflop) Jason would have 3B me with QQ+ so I rule those holdings out.
Two pair was unlikely with that board.

So I called, I'll admit I didn't think long enough that a set could be a possibility.

My image was loose at the time and I just thought he was thinking I was full of sh*t (A leveling war).

So I call and he shows me pocket 3's for a set and he holds.

I later confronted Jason that I could of folded that hand if I took more time to solve the puzzle.
Jason said, I was not going to mess with you with our stack sizes. I agreed and believe him!

If I took my time, I would came to the realization that I was up against 5 hands. (1) AT (2) Set of Tens (3) Set of 6's (4) Set of 3's. and unlikely (5) a bluff. I lose to 3 and beat 1. I think I can rule out a bluff, so I won't even include it my final decision.

History with Jason in prior tournaments, has had him calling with very wide holdings but never before were we this deep.

Jason was not in desperation mode, so if I thought hard a long I can rule that out a bluff for sure. So realistically I'm only beating 1 hand (AT). If I took my time and reviewed all my option I can make good lay-down here and carry on with 40K.

Anyone have good tips or a good plan of action to plug this leak. I kind of answered my question, I need to STOP and THINK. Easier said then done. You can tell a smoker that you just need to quit.

What exercise can I practice that slows me done and run through all the information I gather before executing my plan.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Hey,

Good post.
I find myself in similar spots playing online (though the time given online is less) but still would love any help I could get on this.

Basically, gathering information/ thinking through all possibilities to make the optimal play.

Anyone got any good ideas on this?
