Massive swing, any explanation?

Hi there,

This is my graph for my heads up at Poker Stars: http://pokerprolabs.com/topsharkpro/...iod=2012&w=257

I have been mainly playing the hyper heads up games, and while I understand that the variance in them is huge, surely they can't explain the (relatively) huge swings that I have endured?

Any explanation as to what this graph tells me about as a player? Very depressing haha.

Thanks.

Re: Massive swing, any explanation?

I've personally had graphs where I've lost 50 buyins, while only being 20 buyins under expectation, then recovered into profit, all in 2500 super turbo heads up sng games. And that is nothing compared to some of the disgusting graphs I've seen (I've seen guys lose over 100 buyins over thousands of games and their expectation was break even).

Do you have holdem manager or pokertracker or poker co pilot?

Each of those programs can tell you your expected profit, rather than your results, and the top heads up sng players all agree that the EV (referred to as red line often) is a better indicator of your true skill than your actual results.

I would normally suggest in working harder on your game to see improved results. You could very well be a solid winner and the graph could just be bad luck, but you could also be a losing player too.
