coaching is a scam

those that can do, those that cant coach

pupils that defend coaching are generally starry eyed, arse kissing gaylord losers that are in awe of their coach to the point it blinds their judgement

these cockacoaches pray on the weak, the insecure.

poker players are lazy bums and cockacoaches are the laziest of the lazy, they cant even be bothered playing poker, they just bumhunt insecure players who are effectively paying them to be their mates

you dont need to pay these parasites to tell you to play short sessions, to go to the gym, to play the button hard, or to defend your bb less. You can gt that **** everywhere for free

90% of folk that can beat todays games do exactly that, they dont coach, not much anyway.

Who's gonna be the first "starry eyed, arse kissing gaylord loser" to defend his coach?

Re: coaching is a scam

op is not very eloquent but i agree that there are a lot of people trying to strike it rich in a gold rush by selling shovels and many of those people aren't exactly bona fide.

it funny that the coaching/video cottage industry virtually did not exist 5 years ago. yet today, so many claim you have to have a coach and use a video coaching site to make it. very few coaches/authors ever had coaches themselves. of all the professionals i know, there is maybe one or two that had a mentor of some kind but i don't know of a single story of one having a coach. but i don't know many online pros who started post party poker so that may be why.

Re: coaching is a scam

For the doubters op is a very good msnl grinder who makes $200k+ per year so don't be too quick to label him as a busto fish who knows nothing about pokerz!

When you see variance graphs like the one above it does make you think...

A lot of the NL superstars we see have probably just ran in the top 5% of run good for their 1 to 2mil hands of poker.

Variance is so huge and sick in all aspects of poker not just all in ev. You can go through huge patches where you are constantly running into the top of peoples ranges. Getting JJ vs QQ, KK vs AA etc far more than your supposed to. People flopping sets vs you far more than they're supposed to. Your semi bluffs of draws not getting there on the turn and river far more then they're supposed to etc.

Re: coaching is a scam

i like op and i like his negativity towards super nerds

and yeah i agree with jamsym and personally i think the difference in ability between the nosebleed regs and mid stakes is minimal

dont these guys just play fish anyway, and work together when they find a fish, like 4 super nerds vs some rich fish and then you pay the super nerds 1000$ hr or $1000 a page of there super book

obviously this is an exagerration but u know
