I am new to posting on 2+2 so be gentle....

I have played poker for over ten years.....Had some marginal success early on....I am a winning player live but not huge....But holy ****...Online seems so unreal.

This is what i have tried... (I focus on each tactic for an extended period of time to get a decent size sampling of my results)

Single table: Turbo
Fifty-Fifty: Turbo
Heads up: Turbo
Cash Games_____
Zoom: NL 6 handed
Regular Holdem
NL 6 handed
NL 10 handed

I would say that when I push. I am ahead 85% to 90% meaning i have made the right call.
I am not super aggresive but I can control the table when I need to.

My recent experiment has been with $7 heads up turbo.... in block of about 50 tournaments I won 40. Not bad I think?
Now in the last 50 I am won 20.

In the last 50 i would say that I was ahead on final hands 90% of the time....and then by some stroke of luck... runner runner miracle!

I can't believe that this can happen so many times....It feels like the PStars program has me on a hamster wheel!

Some insight from some real players would be nice.

100 or even 500 heads up games is such a small sample size.

It could just be variance, as you suggest, or you could not understand the game entirely. I would go over to the heads up sng forum and read some of the FAQ and resources and good threads to improve.

The good thing is that you are playing manageable stakes. $7 is not too high, nor too difficult, if you work hard and know what you are doing.

But definitely jump into the strategy forums, it's how you will learn how the game really works, some things you never knew, and how to improve yourself and think about the game.

In all seriousness though you should read as many threads/hands in the HU forum as possible and also watch videos from training sites, and if you ever think it'll be worth it get a coach for private coaching.

And don't even pay much attention to variance, and definitely don't let it tilt you.
