I have been using this tool for a decade. I first look at how chips are stacked. If they have stacks with the chips neatly stacked so the little rectangle spots make a perfect line up their stack they're tight and don't want their money in without top ten hands. EXPLOIT IT! If they are in, I play gapped aND small pairs if not any two under 10.
Eyes tell more than you know. If they can't t as ke their eyes off a card on the board, they have it OR they want to know if that Q is in a hole to beat their jacks. If you call their bet on the flop and stare at your chips on forth street, they're imagining your chips in their stack. Online, I will do an exercise that is mandatory that if you're looking to stay in, raise. Never call. See how it affects your opponents play. Always play hole pairs knowing 1 of 7 times you trip. Take notes and you'll find the 1 in 7 odds are correct after 70 times. At 2-5 trips are my most profitable hand the lower they are from 9-9 down. In a 6 person sit-n-go I won the game and actually won more pots than flops seen,,,,yes it happened ONCE. If I KNOW an opponent has aces, I'll play any two. They never expect a 7-9 or 4-6 to stay. If it's a top ten preflop calling table, play gappers, connectors and pairs. Listen to the voice RAISE to decide if they have Q-Q or K-K. Aces are only the best hand before the flop. Where I play, if a guy strattles he we I'll bet the pot when back to him,,,,,run or crush him!
Age, nationality and poker apparel tell much about a player. Betting reflex is something to watch for and don't be afraid to ask the dealer to see their cards when they muck their losing cards after a showdown but be careful not to disrespect the game or players.
