A poker coaching site asked me to join them as a coach. I have no idea how this usually works, so would appreciate if you guys can share your experience and advices.

How do you guys poker coaches usually deal with coaching sites? A fix income? Some payment per video you create...? Do you get a % of the subscription for premium content? Anything I should watch out for?

Another poker news website also invites me to write poker strategy articles for their blog. How much is the typical rate?

I know this depends on a lot of factors (my skill, my reputation, their traffic...) but knowing some numbers as benchmark, or any insights would be very helpful. Thanks!

There are no rules or standards, everything goes. I have done videos for a site and now own my own (and hired other coaches as well).

Most people used their hourly rate as a player as an indicator of price, but i think the last thing the poker world needs is video # 2.034.165 .

That'd be my view so i'd pay you rather little, unless you bring completely fresh ideas and concepts to the table.

There is a lot of other stuff to be taken into account. Like will you answer questions, for how long. Are you connected with the community or are you a mercenary?

Community coaches get paid a premium on their "normal" worth, at least in my opinion.

Biggest help i can give u is by telling u that you are a weak C4nt.

HELP ME HELP ME. Pathetic. You need somebody to slap you, get some pride and willingness to work. Stop begging like a gypsy.

You have potential inside you, like every human being. How much, well right now it doesn't look good. But it's there and i hope you re-discover it.

Get ur act together, work and save some money if you REALLY want this. Clean shoes, clean toilets. I'm not to proud to do this if i have to.
If u are not willing to do this, i would not waste any time on you anyways.

If you don't, Darwin will take care of you!

thank you i think you helped me and many other readers know to avoid cirtain coaches. even if they had the money. you erte right what you told me was the biggest help.

it taught me not to try contacting just anyone.

ps im not looking for a handout. if you were so sure of yourself then it would be the best move for uou to take me on. imqgine the success story. with evidence of where it started (with this thread).
yet im not a bitter person. so i really do wish you the very best sir. and thanks for taking thetime to respond (however unpleasantly).

You are looking for a handout, you might not realize u do.

There was a guy, similar to you, couple years ago. Search him up on this forum, "Imachapmion".
To be fair to Champ, he didn't beg me for free coaching tho. But we did this and he made 100k in 9months.

Look, i don't need to prove anything anymore as a poker coach. You'd just gonna be another success story out of many, although you'd be hard hard work.

So either save some money, come to us and use a proven system. Or go to other coaches - since pretty much none of them as any real success story - and hope that they want to prove their worth with you as the student.

If you're creating videos, it usually depends on your success (graph) and your popularity.

If you're a low to mid stakes winner with no real fan base, you'll likely start out closer to your poker table hourly for something like a video. Articles generally pay less than videos, and can take a lot of time. If you have a fan base/beat high stakes, you're going to look at a larger rate.

Coaching is based on supply and demand usually. If you're coaching for a private group, you should have some coaching experience already and a good idea of your hourly rate. That rate is basically a range in my mind. I've seen a coach that can fill 20hrs a week at $100hr, but only 5 hrs a week at $200hr.

Generally, new coaches overvalue their rates. They think their information is going to be incredibly valuable and damaging to the games, and they want to make sure they get a "fair" pay for it. They also have less teaching experience, and teaching experience is a huge factor in how good a coach a winning player can be.
