Am I rdy to move up? NL10 - NL25

Hi,
I had huge down-swing (70% of bankroll) and then a pause from poker for a half of a year. Now have I returned to poker and started carefully NL10 FR.

NL10 - FR
56 843 hands (16tables)
1,91 bb/100

but I was studying and improving during this time, so:

last 40550 hands was
3,13 bb/100

last 25525 hands was
4,66 bb/100

last 12500 hands was
6,64 bb/100

Now I have 628usd, so do u think Iam rdy to move up to NL25 FR? Feel free to give me any advice

thx

Dave

Hey Dave. Yes it does sound like you are ready. A few things to consider :

Have you played any NL25? While there are not typically significant differences between limits it still behooves you to splash around a bit taking shots before you make the serious decision to move up. 50,000 hands is a good sample size although I question how much thought you can really put into your decision when you are playing 16 tables at the same time. 24 buy ins is not at all enough from the perspective of a professional's bankroll management but it is fine for an amateur.

Do you ever play 6 max or other non hold'em poker games? Do you keep a poker journal?

Re: Am I rdy to move up? NL10 - NL25

my "career" xD :

1) I hit one final freeroll tournament for 220euro on Unibet and move 200usd to Pokerstars
2) playing SnGMTTs for 90people made 1000usd
3) playing SnGMTTs for 45people made 1500usd and then fell to 1000 again
4) playing 6max NL10 - NL25 - NL50 made 1700usd and then huge downswing on 500usd

now starting NL10 FR.... Now I know that I did huge mistake playing NL50, but now I think I can say that Im much better player and hopefully will get on NL50 again, but full-ring now

To 16-tabling... I have quite quick reactions and evaluation and I really feel good with 16 tables (not fast tables)

Seems like you have the roll and confidence for it, so yeah seems like a good time to move up.

You might want to cut back a little on the number of tables you usually play to start so you can concentrate fully, and mixing games (some 10NL, some 25NL) is another way you can transition if you want to make it a little less potentially jarring to your roll.

Make sure you determine at what point you have to drop back to 10NL if you go on a big downswing.

Good luck!

excellent plan. Dropping back down in limits is an important process! Very important. Rigorous bankroll discipline is absolutely so critical. Anything else can really lead to the quick death of your bankroll.

What specific efforts are you, Klimic, taking to improve your game aside from just playing?

Re: Am I rdy to move up? NL10 - NL25

Im always reading some poker book... But I do it very responsibly - i write down many notes from that book. It forces me to understand the information Im reading. Sometimes I read through the whole notes Ive made to recall it. Hence I can say I really have some gain from reading books (I believe many people doesnt). My plan to the future is if I read whole book which Im reading now and if I catch on NL25, Id like to find someone to create a study group. Of course couch would be better, but its really expensive :/

Hi, playing NL10 over here too.
Hoppefully moving up NL25 in the next 20k/30k hands. BR is good above 100BI ( sounds like a lot for some people...?) but I really want to analyze stats through PT3 that's why I'll wait till 100k hands, see how many leaks and how to plug 'em.
I'm analyzing all sessions already but 100k is good enough to be sure if a player can be profitable I think.

Was wondering if you're serious about a study group and what you would expect from it. Also what network you play on? 16 tables sounds like a lot!!!
