I'm a 2bb/100 winner on 10NL over 80k hands and would like to improve my game and to move up (got smashed at 16NL). Already had a RIO essential membership but I felt they aiming mostly towards 100NL plus players. Any recommendations for other training sites?

Hey Folks,
I'm looking at trying one month of APT, since they are offering half off and a 100% money back guarantee. Is it even worth the time? There's so many sites that offer training and this and that, but I'm a bit skeptical that my game can be improved by playing against the computer and looking at some statistics of my play. The computer obviously cannot perfectly mimic humans.

I tried it a couple of years ago. I could crush it on the strongest levels. At that time, it was a bunch of outdated 2007 or so bots. You could crush it by 3-betting and representing strong postflop. Unless it has improved a lot, I wouldn't recommend it.

I got Ivey League Masters. Been mostly just watching Ivey videos so far. There isn't that much Ivey material, but it is among the best for limit games and PLO/PLO8. I don't think his NLHE material is anything special, but he has crushed the biggest mixed games. He just did a review of someone's 5/10 8-game session, which I thought was pretty cool. There isn't much other mixed games material being produced now. There was an obvious spew in one of his videos of a TD session. I am interested in MTTs and there are a bunch of LuckyChewy videos. Also, some Patrick Antonius videos. The site is still fairly new, so not huge amounts of videos (except for old Lego videos). It might be worthwhile getting the Ivey Master for a month or a few months and going through the good Ivey and other material.

Not sure if appropriate but I thought I would mention that we have some new cash game pros coming to CardRunners. Two have been announced and their debut videos have been released in the last week. More in the coming weeks...

HSNL'er Rednaxela747 (same name on 2p2)

SSNL'er coinflip_si who is beating the games at 6 bb/100 so far in 2015.

Hey,

I have been playing small stakes (NL2, NL5, recently NL10) on Pokerstars and doing fairly well, and now looking to make a transition to SNGs/ MTTs.

Would be playing Regular SNGs/ MTTs - tried my hand on $2.5 180-man SNGs (Turbo) but they are higher variance than regular speed ones. Have played freerolls before and through them won 2 tickets to Weekly Round tournaments. What I'm really saying is I have the patience for tournaments, so Regular ones make all the more sense to me. I play a fairly TAG style of Poker.

Need advice on which training site to join for a good star which will get me going.
I have talked to a few players in my local poker community (who are doing well in MTTs) and the advices have been around:
1. Runitonce (RIO)
2. Tournament Poker Edge (TPE)
3. Cardrunners (CR)

One player suggested me to start with TPE, download and see their videos and then take an RIO essential ($10 a month) subscription.
Another suggested starting with CR and then joining RIO for advanced learning.
Both stressed on hiring a coach, which I will do once I am up and running.

Looking for your views on what's the best way to go about it.
Open to any ideas.

Thanks.

Take advantage of the free trials that most sites offer. Sample content from various instructors and see whose method of teaching resonates best for your learning. From there, sign-up for the site that seems to offer the most for what you're looking for.

I would advise that you start out with training sites to build a solid foundation for your game before getting a private coach. I think, at your stage, you would get more bang for your $$$ by joining a training site or two and having access to several coaches and endless content.

Good luck!

Live 10/20 NL, or online 10/20 NL? Forgive my question because I didn't know whether live 10/20 NL runs regularly in Canada.

Would recommend GrinderSchool if you can't find what you want on free sites.

Spoiler:
Full disclosure: I'm a GrinderSchool coach, but genuinely believe it's the best option for microstakes players and receive no incentive for saying this

Can anyone speak to the quality of content for DragtheBar, and which of the pros have the best videos/series. I'm mainly interested in low-medium stakes 6 max cash. I'm currently looking for a free site, but will eventually subscribe to one of the bigger sub based sites with better pros. From what i've read ROI seems to be the top high end option, with CR being next best value wise?
