Why u assume coaching is very expensive i dont get it as these days its clearly not the case i also think : begginers phunk out thousands to learn the basics is prolly a long stretch , with 500$ to 1000$ in most formats u can get a very solid knowledge base + strats in order to make money .

Video pack Cost 200$ Vs Coach 5 hours . Cost 500$

A good coach will have those 8 hours resumed in charts , strategic concepts written in PDF and he might also have some videos included

+ The most important aspect of all

He can see the hands of the student , see specifically what is HE doing wrong
and know EXACTLY where he has problems.
This is simply invaluable , the difference of what he pays is largely surpassed by potential bigger gains

Many guys bought videos packs only to be BE or even small losers (Im not saying video packs , youtube are bad things theres obvioulsy good stuff and bad like in personal coaching and im sure some of those have also transformed players into winners ) the fact is video packs who are good enough to make you crush any format dont exist
as far as i know of .Would u rather pay 200$ to make 500$ month
or 1000$ to make 1000 $ month ?

The problem is most players who cant make it , want to save money , they think i can beat this , i can learn this in youtube , i can buy a video and do it
but while this is true in some cases for the huge majority of players it doesnt work like this .Objectiv and individual coaching from someone who is crushing his format will give much better chances of succeding to the students than any other way of learning

In the end it comes down how much you are willing to invest in yourself
any experienced coach knows that most guys dont have a strategic vision
or dont want to pay x or y .This is great for the guys who actually hire good coaches .

Video packs , Youtube vids , Individual coaching + Staking can be good or bad depending on lots of things including the students personal objectivs
whats important is that they understand the fundamental differences betwen these formats.

don't get why my LOL to getting 20K in coaching fees without ever talking, comment above is related to what you said?

I have been on both sides of the coaching process and I do agree when it is the right fit, and done right there can be significant value to student. Other times it can be a waste of time/money.

Caveat emptor

The 20k might be lol but the argument behind it is quite accurate imo , i actually didnt delete that by mistake

Yes it can be a waste of money to pay a nl1k coach , 250$ hour to teach you nl5 just like its a waste of money to buy PLO video pack to play 6max hyper .

Hi, i am winning HU NLHE player (bumhunter). I have winrate 16bb/100 over last 100k hands.

I want to start trying other games like 6max NLHE or evolve my HU game to play more regs but don't know where to start.

I have played a little bit of 6m and my winrate was like 0.5bb/100 over 50k hands, lots of variance. Also I have tried regbattling and was small loser...so were my opponants though. Thoughts on what to do next? Looking to incease my hourly

Hello all,

I'm just looking for some advice, some for now and some for future reference. I have played poker online and live for a long time. 10 years plus I'd say, I did in the early days study upto the point of reading a few books. Super system was one haha, shows how long ago I guess. The one thing I really picked up was aggression and position. But after that work took over and I played for fun. So looking at what I've learnt studying for the last few months I'd say I was top end lag going on maniac and not a winning player.

But being a recent dad I don't have the spare cash to play for fun and lose. So I decided to devote the time to learn how to beat the game with some modest goals to start of with; to be able to beat nl10 that generates buy ins for Tournies when I get the odd day to myself (not one in 9 months so far but I'm guessing all the parents out there understand that) but here's my question and I apologise for the long build up - guess most of that should be in some introductory post.

I'm wondering how good and relevant the coaches are that I've pinned my flag too, I like the poker bank with splitsuit who in my opinion is the best at putting across ideas, a natural teacher. Some of these videos and articles are old though. I've obviously gravitated towards blackrain first of, and re reading his stuff has recently saved my game from oblivion. That's due to learning so much new stuff and miss applying it at the micros, it was a sharp reminder of what works. Then there's al spath and scrimitz who runs a YouTube channel called crush the micros.

And for future reference once I reach a ceiling that I can't break through on my own I'd probably look to find a coach. I'm currently beating nl2 (technically I think it'd be said crushing it but realistically I'm not, when I first played after buying pt4 and starting to study I was up at 20+ bb/100 after 10,000 hands, then as I started to look deeper into the game it brought the win rate down to 10bb/100 overall after 15,000 mostly due to miss applying concepts such as fold equity but since starting back at the beginning with blackrain I feel I've got a handle on it again. I'm not sure what my bb/100 is at the moment because my laptop just broke down on me. But my br is over $20 up in the las 4,000 hands so considering the vast changes in how I play plus the small sample size I'm not reading too much into it, but I do feel comfy at nl2 m) and will be looking to move upto nl5 soon. But I'm not against the idea of paying for coaching if I can get myself to the point where I can pay for it through poker winnings.

I really am trying to mine the best free resources from anywhere I can before I pay for anything, by the time I do I'd imagine I'll be confident in who I choose to give my money too.

The books that I'm looking to buy are Poker math that matters and whole card confessions, crush the micros, dynamic full ring poker beyond the basics and the easy game series. From what I can tell these should serve me well as a start of and to move me further along the levels. Does anyone recommend these books, or have any others to recommend instead of?

Hey!

Im looking for a micro stakes cash game coach to make live play videos for a cash game staking group. If you can write articles aswell thats a plus.
If you have experience from both NLHE and PLO, thats also a plus.

The live play will be done on a particular site at nl10-nl25. I will provide the bankroll you need for the play while creating these videos.
You will get to keep the profits, if any, and i will eat any loss.

Long term cooperation is intended for the right person.

If interested, pm me or e-mail at marius(at)itminvest.com and tell me about your experience and how much you charge.

Hi there. Hope I am in the right thread to post this request. I am looking for a micro/small SnG/MTT coach to invest his time in me in return for share of $ winnings. No security deposits, etc. When we get to know each other better, you will realizie that I am not a person to play around or run from responsibility to share profits. I have quite a strong background and goodwill outside poker and very positive credentials for a coach to rely on my word.

Anyway, just a little about me. I mostly play on PokerStars. In 2016 I payed a lot more attention to my game and have a solid understanding of advanced principles. I review my game quite often and analyze ICM implications of my decisions. Watch lots of vods and read books on poker. I play $1-11 limits, mixing SnGs and MTTs. You can look me up on Poker rankings, Pocketfives or SharkScope. You can pretty much ignore anything before 2015, as I was a standard fish clicking buttons

I am not looking to be coached by Fedor Holtz or Jonathan Little right now, I just want to make sure the person adds to my game on micro/small MTTs.

I would appreciate any advice or feedback.

Hi,

posting this here is a sign of desperation - and I will not lie. Yes I am desperate and as such I am comitted too.

The format is NL Zoom!

This is what I will pay you (at least, excluding RB, playing 100k hands/month, excluding pay during coaching period) depending on where you get me. Scroll down to see how I get to these numbers and what I want from you and what I offer you to do.

WR 20BB/100 NL25 Zoom: 5000$ profit/month -> 0$ (limit too low)
WR 2BB/100 Nl50 Zoom: 1000$ profit/month -> 0$ (profit too low)
WR 4BB/100 NL50 Zoom: 12000$ profit shared at 28,23% ->3387.6$
WR 2BB/100 Nl100 Zoom: same as above
WR 4BB/100 NL100 Zoom: 24000$ profit shared at 41.17% -> 9880.8$
WR 2BB/100 NL200 Zoom: sames as above
WR 4BB/100 NL200 Zoom: 48000$ profit shared at 67.05% -> 32184$
WR 2BB/100 NL500 Zoom: 60000$ profit shared at 80% -> 48000$
WR 4BB/100 NL500 Zoom: 120000$ profit shared at 80% ->96000$

The following perks I am willing to give and I'm willing to sign a contract for this:

-I will play 150k hands in a one month period before any coaching happens if you wish proof of stamina
-I will play 100k hands a month during coaching (only less if advised to do so) and the 6 months to come from there
-I will pay you up to 80% of my profits depending on where you get me during the coaching and the period of 6 months after that - including rakeback. But there is a Minimum of 1500$ of profit a month before pay starts happening at 25% and from there it goes gradually up. 80% will be reached at 10k$ profit/month. I will also only pay you if you get me at least to NL50 as a winning player.
-for security, rules will have to be set for the conditions under which coaching is going to end if both parties do not agree on that matter

The reason I am posting this here ist because the audience is bigger than at the site I'm usually active in.

The reason I'm doing it this way is quality. I have hired coaches in the past who contradicted themselves. I've hired coaches who turned out not to beat NL2. This way you are the creator of your own profit. If you're good enough it's certainly more +EV than playing yourself or get the usual student. If you're bad you will not be interested in this anyway.

Looking for a CFP program to join. Can beat 2nl, but not 10nl. Willing to put in the work, but not really looking to spend a ton on coaching right now, unless I can find a solid program with a commitment on both sides.

Hello,

I hope that I'm putting this in the right thread. Just looking for general advice about what i should be studying. I typically try to study an hour a day, and was looking for things that i can work on daily for my game. I play 5-10NL right now and am pretty much break even. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

No coaches means no coaches. That doesn't mean "I'm a coach, but will respond in a way that points them towards me without outright saying it."

It doesn't mean "they don't have PMs, so I'll post my business website/email in this thread."

It doesn't mean "I'll blast someone else's coaching program and/or promote my own."

Thread is simple, no coaches. Coaches can PM people that are interested in here, this is not a discussion thread.

Not directed towards one person, I deleted 5 posts by 4 users.
